The next morning
Clem
I was woken up out of my sleep by something wet dripping into my face. I opened my eyes to see Sam standing over me with his front paws on my chest, his tongue hanging from his mouth as he panted.
His tail began to wag as I looked at him and I chuckled gently pushing him off of me. " Come on, Sam. I'm fully capable of waking myself up. You don't have to wake me up with your wet kisses." I said as I slowly got out of bed.
Sam barked in response causing me to look at him. " Excuse me? Don't you talk back to me, sir." I playfully warned as I pointed to him. I glanced over to see that Lee wasn't on his bed.
Sam and I exited the tent and I looked around, spotting him near Carley's tent talking to her and another woman.
" Let's go, Sam." I called as we made our way towards them.
" Oh Ofcourse, that's easy. I'll even get you one that moves, just come with me so I can get some measurements." The other woman said to Lee as I approached them.
" Go where? And what's going to move?" I questioned causing them all to look at me.
" Wow... Hi, Clementine. You've certainly grown so much since I last saw you. And you've got a dog now." Carley said smiling down at Sam.
" Yeah, his name is Sam. But what were you guys talking about?" I raised an eyebrow looking between them.
The other woman cleared her throat as she held her hand out for me to shake. " Hi, I'm Teresa. I was a Prosthetist before the zombie apocalypse. When everything happened, I held up in that building right there, it's where we kept all the supplies needed for my job." She explained pointing towards the building.
I glanced over at it before looking back at her. " A Prosth- what?" I questioned, rasing an eyebrow.
" Prosthetist. I specialized in making prosthetic limbs that move." She informed me with a chuckle.
" And how does that work exactly, is there like a button?" I tilted my head causing Lee to chuckle.
" Excuse my daughter. Clem can be a little curious and straight forward sometimes." He shook his head glancing over at me as I shrugged still wanting her to answer my question.
" Oh no worries, I love the interest. You could join us and I'll show you how it works instead" Teresa smiled. I nodded, I was joining them regardless, but I appreciated the invite.
We followed Teresa towards the building and stepped inside. " When the apocalypse happened, I was tasked with loading all these boxes into storage, this was the storage unit, Zombies were everywhere and I had nothing else to do, so I started creating different sized robotic limbs.
I told myself that maybe I might need one someday, or someone else may come around that needed one. So I already made a lot. I just need the measurements to see what size you'll need and how much of your arm was cut. " Teresa explained.
"That word sort of makes this all seem unreal... Zombies... " I shook my head as I looked around.
Theresa glanced back at me with a smile. " That's what they are. People have been predicting the rise of Zombies for years. So many movies about them." She said.
" Movies? About Walkers?" I frowned.
" You were probably much too young to see those movies, they were pretty graphic... And now that I think about it, some of them were actually accurate. " Carley chuckled.
