Chapter 5: Bonded By Battle

As soon as he woke up, he was interrupted by Tyler screaming down the hall.

"WOMAN GET OFF OF ME, SOMEONE - AHHHH"

THE HELL TYLER?! DID SOMETHING GET IN?!

He bolted down the hallway, forgetting his hoodie and sword again.But what he saw...was just Aponia cuddling him.He stared at Tyler in disappointment, shrugged, turned around, and instantly ran into someone.Elysia was behind him and trying to take a photo to "savor the moment".So when she dropped her camera, he reached to grab it before it fell and successfully snatched it out of the air with the Devil Bringer.He sighed in relief as he stopped focusing on the camera and gave it back to Elysia, apologizing for almost breaking her camera.His attempt to walk away was shortly interrupted by Elysia blushing as he realized...he didn't have a shirt on.Wearing a hoodie was his way of wearing a shirt, so without the hoodie he was shirtless.Instead of walking back to his room to get his hoodie he instead chose to antagonize her by getting closer.

"What's wrong? Don't tell me you don't want a hug!"

Hehe paybac- what's that look on her face?Her blush soon disappeared as she started floating up and released a screech that made everything disintegrate around him.The hair soon faded to blue as the Elysia look-a-like appeared.Cables started launching at him from the ground pushing him back while he tried to dodge and flip around them.but he soon went on the offensive...and grabbed one of the cables with the Devil Bringer.The arm he grabbed it with glitched until it vanished, and so did his right arm.He pushed himself onto the cable with one arm, and jumped to prepare for a punch.A rogue cable wrapped around his leg and slammed him into the ground with a grand impact.Every attempt to get free was proven futile as his left arm soon vanished.But just because he was out of arms, doesn't mean he was out of options.He started to kick the cable even harder and sliced through it with an electrically powered kickAnd after spinning back to his feet, he tried to go for a more reactive approach than an offensive one.Spinning around cables while running the blue haired lady, he planted his feet and backflip over one of the cables, running on that towards her.A couple kicks later and he was face to face with her but since both of his legs had vanished...HE HEADBUT HER AS HARD AS HE COULD.Biting into a cable upon landing, he hijacked it with the electrokinesis and controlled it to maneuver around her.The cable soon wrapped tightly around her...or that's what he thought he saw.He was suddenly back at the landing with cables launching him left and right.No limbs to protect himself, no sword to slice through the cables, and no maneuverability to aid him in this time of need.They wrapped around his body and squeezed him like a squeaky toy while he was slowly lifted towards the lady's face.Lightning surrounded Glitch's body as thunder struck the woman, dropping him in the process.He used an advanced electrical technique and reformed his limbs out of lightning constructs but he felt uneasy and unbalanced due to the limited supply of power he had left.Quickly advancing on her, he jumped from cable to cable until one of them hit the lightning construct he had made for an arm, disabling his electrokinesis entirely.With no other options left for survival and to continue the fight, the only thing he could do was bite the cables as they grabbed him.The lady showed an upset expression as he was lifted up to her face and they stared at each other for 2 minutes.

"So...this is how I go out huh? To glitching? How ironic"

She gave him a smug smile as...she laughed.The entire battle, and after all of that...she was just laughing at him.He fought his hardest and yet this girl was laughing at his attempt.Suddenly the cables started to glow, and different colors of light shined from his back.They cut at the cables until he was dropped and they carried him up above the wired mess.Wrapping together around where his arms and legs should have been, they remade his lost appendages and lightning crackled from his fingertips.It was the light of everyone he had cured until now and he smiled as he realized this.It might not be everything, and he may not have saved everyone yet, but this only encouraged him to try harder at reuniting the Flame Chasers.He dived towards the woman at full force, flipping and spinning around the cables until he axe-kicked her in the head.Knocking her down with the sound of thunder landing from the sky.He pulled the kinetic energy from her impact from the dust and recollected it into chains that bound her to the ground.his eyes were glowing with the colors of light that had saved him from perishing to her and the beams seemingly fought the cables for him while he focused on defeating her.She looked up with the same smug smile on her face as time began to rewind again, until she was back in control.Due to being caught off guard he was distracted and jumped by cables flying at his head.Tyler was screaming down the hall again about Aponia cuddling him as Glitch woke up in cold sweat.Energy started to flare from his eyes as it dispersed with a glitching effect, and pain shot through his head like a bullet to the brain.He kept his mouth shut and muffled his agonized screams with his hands but it seemed like it caught the attention of someone outside.So he quickly gathered himself and sat dramatically by the window, posing in a way that was similar to Sonic whenever you would wait long enough.When he saw who walked in, he enhanced his fists and wrists with lightning.It was Sakura and she was holding something in her hands.A tiny box that seemed to hold something resembling Sakura's style...he looked at her in confusion.
