He walked for days without resting.Every step he took was another towards what he knew would be his destiny, but every blink reminded him of how he was still human.Immortality stops him from dying but it doesn't stop him from starving or insomnia.Pretty soon he entered a desert that looked similar to his old home, even seeing his old shack amongst the rubble.Although faded with time, the shack still stood and everything that was inside got consumed with cobwebs. But in one room...he swore he could hear something move.Practically snapping around the corner, he looked to see that a woman had gotten into his photo album. She was quietly humming some song Glitch had heard on the radio one day, but that day has long passed. To avoid startling her he attempted to hide his sheath underneath his hoodie...which failed miserably, causing him to stumble and fall right behind her.The faint smell of wine came from her as she turned to look at him.
"My...are you the owner of this fine establishment?"
Her voice was soft but still had confidence...something which Glitch wished he had while meeting new people.
"Sadly yes, but due to my origins, I'm surprised this place is here."
He dusted himself off and stood up, with the bracer slinking around his neck to see who he was talking to.
"Oh? Do you mind explaining your origin then?"
"Yeah but it might take a while, so you can sit down if you want."
They walked over to his living room as he unsheathed his sword, concerning her with what he was about to do.With one single, precise, strike...he was able to adjust the entire couch with a breeze of wind. This surprised the woman as the only other person she knew who was that accurate... had seemingly disappeared.Glitch sat down and put his sheath behind him, where he would normally put the Yamato when coming back from either hunting or traveling on rare occasions.Playfully patting the couch, he invited her to sit down next to him as he told her his story.
"This is the story of someone who should have died...but kept on living."
She took out a red wine cup and sipped from it, watching carefully at what he would say next.
"Long ago, a child of unnatural attributes was born. He was seen as an outcast from everyone he met and yet, he chose to treat everyone he saw like old friends. But one day the kids at his school started making fun of him, teasing and hitting him until he couldn't handle it anymore. After a huge blast of lightning, 50% of the kids were sent to the hospital while the other 50% was sent to therapeutic confines. He ran home that day crying because he never wanted to hurt anyone...but his emotional outburst only got worse when he found out the only member of his family left, his mother, had died due to a heart attack. Not knowing what to do, he ran into the woods and built a shack to keep him warm during the winter. But when he was out traveling one day, he noticed a wandering ronin that was looking for his bounty. So he helped the ronin look around the woods and in return, was given something he shouldn't have had...A powerful katana capable of blessing him with demonic power. The government found him and did experiments, not allowing him to return home until they figured out what allowed him to wield it without perishing due to the power being too much. It turned out that the same thing that harmed those kids back in his old school was cycling the power and constantly venting it through his strikes, allowing for consistent and livable usage from it's wielder. They tried to cut the child open to see what made him tick...but no matter how many times they stabbed or shot him...the child continued living and breathing. They managed to achieve his heart out...but the kid was still living, even without his heart. That child was confirmed to have no soul that day which only sent him into a deep depression. So since they couldn't replicate his unique abilities, they used him.
