Chapter 8: Past The Disaster

Glitch woke up like he would on a normal day of inactivity.Everyone had been gone because of Kevin's plan...everyone except for Elysia, himself, Spidey, and Fu-Hua.He didn't really feel like he should go out and try to do something since everyone else was already busy and he had just cured Vill-V.So beyond all of that...it was a boring day.Sure he DID try to find something to do, but every effort seemed fruitless in his endeavor to not be bored.He tried sleeping in, training, playing something, testing out the capabilities of his Devil Bracer, hell he even tried to mimic Spidey's web shooters!But nothing seemed to work...As he walked around his room, the door opened and Elysia walked in.

"What's with that frown?"

hmm...well this could be a chance to hang out with her a little, so I can actually get to know her better.

"I'm surprised that you're not in the same boat as me right now, there's nothing to do around here today!"

"Well of course I'm not bored, only boring people get bored!"

A simple gaze into his eyes told her that something else was going on but she decided that maybe now wasn't the time for anything like that and instead sat beside him.She looked around his room, trying to find anything that could light the load and give him something to do.Everything had already been cleaned and folded which surprised Elysia due to her being under the impression that he was one of the messiest people in the Lab.After a while of sitting still, she remembered that Glitch had never done any ranged attacks other then throwing his sword at the enemy, and finally decided to do something about that.

"Hey Glitch?"

"Huh?"

His concentration on possible subjects to talk about was broken by her voice.

"Why do you keep throwing your sword while you're fighting?"

"I mean that sword of yours is sometimes the only thing keeping you alive, so why do you choose to toss it so carelessly?"

He thought about this for a while.Even with his training in the military, the years of inactivity from combat situations had made him forget some things that could prove useful...and this sadly included ranged weapon training.But he quickly made up his mind and tried to joke to her about firearms being cowardly.

"It's because I'm confident that I'll be able to fetch it, and using things like guns and bows just seem to...I don't know...distancy for me?"

Nailed it.

"Then since you have basically a whole day to relax...do you want me to teach you how to use a bow?"

"Eh thanks but no thanks, I don't want to waste your time with something like that."

"You sure? What if some fight in the future requires you to use one?"

"It's always good to be prepared, especially with someone as careless as you out there on the field!"

"Hmm...maybe-wait. Are you just trying to spend time with me?"

"That depends on if you want to spend time with me or not~"

She gave him a smug expression that let him know she wouldn't let up until he gave out a definite yes or no, so with Glitch being Glitch, he quickly retorted.
