Tam's P.O.V.
I woke up groggily, wondering why I was sleeping on the floor when I could have used my bed. I turned my stiff neck and saw someone asleep on my shoulder. Then the memories of last night ran through my mind. The thing that stuck out to me the most is that Edaline and Grady let me stay. Well, Edaline probably let me while holding back Grady. Yeah, that was more closer to reality. Sophie started groaning from my shoulder and blinked hard.

"Good morning," I whispered, making the blonde elf jump, which caused her to smash into my jaw. I groaned in pain.

Sophie looked like she was about to apologize, but her face hardened and she slapped my shoulder. "You idiot, you shouldn't have scared me like that!" She hissed.

"Sorry," I mumbled, not sorry in the slightest. Sophie was cute when she was tired and angry. Woah, where did that come from Tam? You like Biana. You always have and you always will, no matter who she kisses. Bile rose from my throat at the thought.

"Um, Tam? Were you even listening to me?" A honey like voice cut through my thoughts.

"Hmm?" I grunted.

"I asked why you were still here?"

"I didn't go home."

"Why didn't you go home?"

"Why didn't you wake me up?"

"I was sleeping..."

"Well there's your answer," I responded and it seemed like the telepath-inflictor-polygot-teleporter-enhancer thought about the conversation.

She shook her head, as if the action would take her thoughts away. "It looks like Edaline conjured you up a Foxfire uniform," she commented, nodding toward her bed.

I cursed. Sophie gave me a look, asking what the heck was wrong with me. "If Linh finds out that I spent the night here, we're both dead," I explained, quickly grabbing the extra bundle of clothes. "Luckily, she spent the night at Fitz's place, so it will take a little longer than normal, but just know that she will find out." Sophie nodded along, taking her clothes to her closet while she pointed to the bathroom for me.

As soon as we were both done, we took the leapmaster to Foxfire about ten minutes early, hoping that no one we knew would be here yet. Unfortunately, I saw the last person I wanted coming straight for us. I jumped behind Sophie, who rolled her eyes at me. "Fuming hydrokinetic, ten o'clock," I told her, and she turned just in time to see Linh glide past her, going straight for me.

"Where were you last night mister?!" She growled at me, and I recoiled. Everyone thinks I'm the overprotective twin, but they haven't seen a mad Linh yet. I'm willing to forgive them.

"U-um. I w-was at um,"

Sophie smacked her forehead in annoyance and saved me. "Yesterday, Tam volunteered to help Grady and I bathe the verminion but ended up getting stuck in a net twenty feet in the air. By the time the gnomes got him untangled, it was too dark to leap, so he just spent the night at Havenfield," she told my twin.

Linh narrowed her eyes, but stalked off. As soon as she was out of earshot, I turned toward Sophie. "Really?" I whisper hissed. "Hopelessly tangled in a net? What kind of excuse is that?"

She glared at me. "I'm sorry, but I panicked!"

"Next time, panic slower!"

She rolled her eyes and stalked off, but not before she invited me over to help bathe the verminion.

Yep, this one is shorter. And don't get used to the fact that I'm updating this the day after the first one! This might not last! I'm just rly into this FF rn.
