Unknown's P.O.V.
I swiftly walked down the halls, darkened with dread. I didn't know what Gisela had wanted that it was important enough to risk my identity for, but it had better be worth it. The only reason I didn't leave the Neverseen was because of Elna and Bronwyn. I couldn't let them die.
I slowed down as I neared the cells, making sure to block out the anguished cry of prisoners. I came to a complete stop at cell A31 and stood there in shock. I could see Tam and Sophie sitting there, clinging to each other like they were their lifelines. I could tell that Gisela had used the Manipulators on Tam. There were shadow pouring out of his fractured leg as if blood.
I slowly opened the door, ducking my head down in shame. I could hear the pair gasp, cutting my heart in two. I went to the ends of the earth to protect Sophie and her friends while keeping my Neverseen involvement a secret, just to heal one of them and figure it out. I should have known. Gisela may have given me multiple chances with Elna and Bronwyn, but she would make me as miserable as she could every time I messed up.
I could practically feel Sophie's rage as she accused me of something that wasn't true. She had every right to believe the lie, though. I wouldn't blame her. "You're one of them?!" She angrily growled. "After everything you've done for us, you just stab us in the back? I trusted you more than Keefe! More than Forkle! Heck, I even trusted you more than my Cognate!" She spat, every word like a dagger conjured into my heart. "I can't believe you, Elwin."
Aaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!! IT WAS ELWIN!!!!!! Who saw that coming?! I really liked this chapter. Well, writing it. I feel evil. Y'all should try these cliffhangers more often! It's definitely recommended. It feels good make others miserable >:)

1: why do you guys think Elwin helps the Neverseen?
2: Who do y'all think Elna and Bronwyn are and how Elwin knows them?
3: for the next chapter, should Elwin Tell Sophie and Tam why he was there, or should Lady Gisela threaten him to remain silent?
