Sophie's P.O.V.
"Careful!" Grady yelled as I fearfully walked in the pen. "Don't startle him yet.""You're doing great Sophie!" Tam shouted at me with a smirk and I gave him my best glare. His face just looked too smug.
"Here, nice... amazing... wonderful... verminion." I sputtered. A low growl interrupted my sentence and I swiveled around to find the purple-bathed verminion snarling at me. I gulped.
"Get it to follow you!" Grady unhelpfully shouted. "Make it mad!"
"What?!" I squeaked. "Are you mad?" He looked at me with a confused expression. "Sorry, human thing," I explained. Turning back toward the stinky vermin, I grabbed the nearest thing (which happened to be my shoe), and tossed it right in the verminion's jaw. It snarled as best as it could, but the sound was muffled from the shoe propping the jaw open.
Tam started laughing his guts out. "That's one way to do it!" He gasped between breaths. I smirked when I saw tears come down his face.
Not so scary anymore, are you? I taunted the verminion. It squeezed it's jaw tight and for a second, I thought it would swallow my shoe. Oh, it did much worse than that. It snapped my shoe in half and came running straight for me. "Tam! Help me!" I screeched. "I didn't invite you over to laugh at me!" Tam reluctantly opened the enclosure door and stepped in between me and the dog-sized gerbil. He sent shadows at the verminion until it was stumbling over everything as if senseless. Grady, not missing a beat, came over and picked up the living devil and put him in bubbly water and told us that we were free to go back inside.
"I'm not gonna ask what you did."
"Good, 'cause I wasn't going to tell you."
Once we got to my room, I sighed. "Now what do you want to do?" I asked Tam.
He shrugged. "We could go to Atlantis. I heard there was a new bakery there. Maybe we could get some treats," Tam suggested. I didn't give him a second to breathe before I dragged him to the leapmaster and shouted out Atlantis.

"ohmygoshthisissogoooood!!!" I yelled through a mouthful of clairevene. It tasted like delicious lemon bars with powdered sugar on top. The waitress lady smiled when I asked for two more plates of it and quickly came back out with our platters. "Mmmmm. It smells so good. Tam, what are you going to eat?" I teased.
The waitress laughed when he rolled his eyes. "You two lovebirds enjoy!" She said and walked away. We both turned red and wouldn't meet each other's eyes.
Tam's P.O.V.
That lady just ruined our day out. Sophie and I were having a great time, when she had to make things awkward. Now I can't seem to look Sophie in the eye, and sat in awkward silence. I sighed. "I should probably head home. Linh should be there by now," I said when I finished my plate, but we both new it was just an excuse to leave the tension.Just when I held my crystal up, Sophie's hand grabbed mine. "Thanks Tam, this was fun," she told me and held up her own crystal and leaped away. I smiled to myself for some reason and made my way to Solreef.
"I had never seen it coming," a voice said in an amused tone. I turned toward a smirking Linh. "You and Sophie? I wasn't expecting that."
I groaned. Here we go.
Hey guys! Sorry about this chapter. It's not as good as I wanted it to be, but I pushed through it. It seems like I'm giving out questions every chapter, so why not? I like hearing from y'all anyways:
1: Who is your fav kotlc character?
2: Who is your favorite bodyguard?
And,
3: On a scale of one to ten (ten being the most), how much is Elwin underrated?
Love you Sweets!
