Tam's P.O.V

The first thing I saw when Sophie and I stepped through the light was a large, green dinosaur. I sighed in relief. We were back at Havenfield. I watched as a crowd of people came running toward me and Sophie. The first one's here swept the girl up into their arms. "Oh my gosh, Sophie!" Edaline cried as she and Grady kissed her and squashed her in a giant hug.

"Mom, Dad. Air," she choked out in multiple breaths. Edaline and Grady let her go for a minute to look her over. They found nothing as the rest of our friends came over.

Linh leapt onto me with tears staining her cheeks and some still coming down her face. "Tam, I was so worried, I thought they might kill you! Whatever they did to you both we will do way worse," she angrily decided.

I chuckled, which made my twin even more mad. "Linh, guys. The worst that the Neverseen did to us was give Sophie and I horrible breakfast and bore us to death," I explained. I decided not to make the others freak out by telling them that Gisela found out how to control our abilities.

"Why would the Neverseen do that?" Dex wondered aloud. "It's not like them to not torture us for information."

"The boredom was torture in itself," Sophie muttered in an annoyed tone. "I was close to just blurting everything in knew just to be able to do something. I swear, the Neverseen's new low is their new high."

"Too bad the Neverseen weren't the ones to actually make that decision. We had to hold them back." The voice came from the shadow of the panakes tree. I could vaguely see a small bird outline in the darkness. "That was actually pretty fun, I got to mess with your little elivin heads."

"Who are you?" Keefe shouted as I moved the shadows away from the figure. Standing right in the middle was a small girl, no more than thirteen years old. "Did you help our friends escape?" Keefe asked again with skeptism.

The girl smirked. "I bet you couldn't do it better than I could. I actually got the lovebirds out without a scratch. You, Sencen, never could have accomplished that." I could tell the use of his last name from the stranger really shook him up. Keefe turned pale at the comment. Before  Sophie or anyone else could defend him, the girl spoke again. "Don't even think about arguing, you all know it's true. My name is Kate and the shade and Moonlark are coming with me."

Talk about subject change.

"I'm not going with you," Sophie declared and I nodded in agreement. "I don't care whether you saved us or not, I'm staying home." She sent Sandor after Kate but before he could blink, I felt a hand wrap around my wrist and everything went black.
