Summary: Lucy gets thrown up against a wall and unknowingly goes home with a concussion. It's not until the next day that she and her team notice.

Of course, she hadn't stopped to think about the ringing in her ears. Yes her head hurt, but that was to be expected after quite a tough shift. By the time she got in the house, dinner wasn't even a thought. After a quick shower, she was cuddled up in her bed, fast asleep.

Waking up the morning after being thrown up against a wall during a fight, however, was not pleasant. Her head was pounding, nausea plaguing her system and her eyes glossed over.

Shit. I'm gonna be sick.

Running towards her bathroom, or stumbling rather, Lucy fell in front of the toilet gagging. Yet nothing came up. After sitting there for what felt like hours, she found the strength to get up and get ready for work.

The drive to work was pretty smooth, other than her occasional head jerk. Breakfast hadn't even been a thought, nor had making or stopping for a cup of coffee. Once she made her way into the building and got changed into her uniform Lucy was sure she'd be fine.

She was wrong.

During roll call, she could feel herself slowly buzzing out. Her ears were ringing and everything around her sounded muffled.

The brunette hadn't even noticed roll call ended until she saw Tim's face in front of her own. Looking around she also noticed Angela and Nyla staring at her with concerned looks on their faces.

"-cy! Lucy!" she heard Tim yell. Had he been calling her name?

"What's going on Lucy?" asked Angela. "Mm fine" her words slurred.

"Did something happen during your shift yesterday Lucy?" asked Nyla, obviously extremely concerned with how her friend was acting.

Before she could answer, Lucy gagged, her body jerking forward. A searing pain shot through her head as she tried to contain herself. Though nothing came up, they all knew what was going on.

Lucy has a concussion.

The glossy eyes, nausea, slurred speech, and delayed reaction were all signs. As Angela rushed to get Lucy a trashcan in case she did get sick, Nyla went to speak with Grey about her condition.

"M-head hurts Tim" the brunette whispered, on the verge of tears. "I know Luce, we're gonna get you all fixed up".

He couldn't stand to see Lucy in this condition, reaching out for him expecting to be held.

"I've called an ambulance for Officer Chen, Bradford you go with her once they get here and I expect to be notified of any updates. We will discuss the matter once Officer Chen is feeling better" Grey said before going outside to wait for the paramedics.

As they waited the crew kept Lucy talking, though every few minutes she would complain that her head hurt.

By the time the paramedics had gotten there, Lucy was going in and out of consciousness. Tim's professional exterior falling each second a tear came down Lucy's face.

On the way to the hospital, Tim yet again kept her talking, though her answers were unintelligible.

Once they had reached the hospital and confirmed that Lucy did indeed have a concussion, Tim felt like he could breathe a little easier knowing she was in the hands of medical professionals.

Angela called him not too long after he got situated in Lucy's room waiting for her to wake up.

Hey, how are things going down there?
