One week later and Nico and I haven't said a single word to each other. Apparently we're dating, but I'm pretty sure people who date talk to each other.
I was walking into school with Piper and Jason, why? I'm not really sure. Piper was overflowing with questions, mainly about me 'acting weird lately'. Every once in a while Jason would say something to.
"Listen you guys. I just have something happening, and I don't really want to talk about it." I stormed. "Why not?" Jason pressed. "Because! It's stressful, and confusing." Piper put a supportive hand on my back. "We can make less confusing. Is it about someone else?" Piper asked. "Yeah, this girl is cupid." Jason laughed.
I stared at my shoes. "It's just a weird thing, I don't need help." I mumbled. "Please Will." Jason said. "Last week somebody and I started dating. But I don't know if we're actually dating. And we also haven't talked in a week." I ranted. Jason slapped my back. "That's the worst." He joked, resulting in him getting slapped in the stomach by Piper. "Damn it!" He groaned. I laughed at the two of them.
"Who?" Piper said. "Someone." I mumbled. "Who?"
"Someone."
"Who?"
"Someone."
"Who?"
I finally snapped. "For gods sake Piper! Nico! That's who!" I heard Jason say to Piper about me acting like Nico when I walked away. "Maybe Nico is rubbing off on him," Piper joked. I heard them laugh and I rolled my eyes.
When I got to study hall later, I sat down in the same place I have all year. Nico looked up from his phone, nodded, and went right back. I ran a hand through my hair then pulled my phone out.
I had snuck away to the library during lunch, not wanting to face Nico, Piper, or Jason. Or really anyone. I clicked onto Percy's Snapchat story to see a bunch of pictures from lunch. I dropped my phone on my desk and leaned back in my chair. I looked over at Nico, who was staring at me. "What?" I asked. "Nothing, you just, I don't know. Seem, annoyed? Overwhelmed? Mad?" Nico guessed. "Well, no thanks to you." I snapped.
Nico turned his back to me. I rolled my eyes. I'm so stupid, I thought. Nico's just trying to be helpful.
"Neeks. I'm sorry. I don't know what's gotten into me." I mumbled. He kept his back turned, but I saw his head raise slightly. "I know I'm being an ass. I'm just confused. A week ago, we said we were dating. Now it's as if we don't even know eachother."
Nico turned back towards me. "I know. I'm sorry. I don't know how to do this. You probably had lots of relationships back in Texas." He's not wrong. I was quite the charmer back in Dallas. I guess being a "Sun Kissed Blond" and a horse guy and a music guy isn't that cool here.
I reached over and grabbed his hand. "You don't need to know. We can learn."
Ik its a lil bit shorter but here it finally is sooo <3
