IT WAS CURRENTLY THREE THIRTY PM AND Ethan was chilling in the living room throwing handfuls of goldfish crackers in his mouth while watching YouTube on his tv, occasionally laughing so hard he'd choke on his snack.

All of a sudden he heard footsteps running down the stairs and he turned his head to see richie hanging up the phone.

"Where are you going?" Ethan asked curiously.

"None of your business." Richie scrambled around the house looking for his shoes.

"Can I come with you?"

Yes, Ethan was that type of annoying younger sibling. He didn't even know where richie was going but he knew that he'd make him stop somewhere to get some food.

Richie looked at him up and down before saying "no" but Ethan wasn't taking that for an answer.

"Let me grab my shoes real quick!" Ethan sped up the stairs to his room and quickly put on his converse.

"Ethan you can't come, I won't be here for days!"

"So?" Ethan yelled from his room.

"You have school idiot! Your senior year matters you know?"

Richie tried protesting more but Ethan was already out the door waiting for Richie to unlock the car.

He sighed "I don't like you" he said opening the car door. "I love you" Ethan countered, opening the passenger side.

"Tell that to someone who cares, like Nick for instance" Richie said backing out of the driveway.

Richie noticed Ethan's face fall at that.
"Are you okay?"

"Why wouldn't I be okay?"

"Don't joke with me right now Ethan" Richie said taking a left.

"Can we go to the gas station?" Ethan tried changing the subject "I want a bag of chips."

"No, i don't have time to get you food, but I'll make an exception if you tell me what's wrong, is it nick? Did he figure out his feelings for you?"

"Yeah.." Ethan said quietly looking out the window.

"And?"

"He asked me to forget everything that happened between us"

"Oh," Ethan could feel Richie's eyes on him and refused to look at him.

"He's probably not ready for a relationship, they're stressful you know?" Ethan tried to convince himself.

"You are stressful" Richie shrugged and Ethan shot him a glare.

"You're-"

"I'm kidding" he laughed.

"This isn't the time for jokes" Ethan mumbled.

"Want my advice?" Richie offered.

"No"

Richies phone began ringing and he quickly picked it up.

"I'll be there in five" He hung up and started stepping on the gas pedal a little more.

"Wait where are we going?" Ethan never even thought to ask.

"My girlfriends little sister is in the hospital because she broke her foot or something, I'm basically taking Sam back to her childhood town, so she can see her sister"
