Sajana's P.O.V.
The teacher called my name for attendance, butchering the pronunciation. I had corrected her so many times, but by now I had just given up. Besides, I was in too much of a daze to do anything.
"Here," I called, absentmindedly. I had my chin in my hands and stared at the board. The door opened and Holden rushed in. I perked up and sat a little straighter in my chair. My heart skipped a beat when he took the empty seat next to me.
"Hey," he whispered.
"Hey," I repeated. And that was that. The teacher started the lesson and I couldn't talk to him anymore.
That is, until she told us to pair up to study the next section in the textbook. I glanced at Holden and I realized he had done the same.
"Partners?" he asked me with a shy smile. I nodded.
This was shaping up to be a good day at school. For once.
