Holden's P.O.V.

Sincerely, Holden Davidson I wrote at the bottom. Picking up the letter, I scanned it with my eyes, looking for any imperfections. My lips twisted as I spotted one. I carefully erased Sincerely, and replaced it with Love, in the nicest letters I could muster. At last, I was satisfied. I would make Sajana believe one way or another. I had to.

I sneaked into my sister's room. Thankfully, she wasn't there - she was probably out with her boyfriend anyways. I rummaged through her stationary until I found what I was looking for : A lovely blue envelope to match the colour of the paper. I wrote my name on it, alongside Sajana's. Just seeing our names together made my mouth twitch. I tiptoed back to my own room and sat down, carefully sketching a rose on the envelope. When I was satisfied with that too, I ran downstairs, letter tucked under my sleeve.

"I'm going out, Mom!" I called as I headed out the door. I waited two seconds before hearing her 'okay'.

To my surprise though, I didn't even have to look for Sajana. She was crossing the road right across from me.

"Sajana!" I called out. She lifted her face and I noticed it was tear stained. I wanted nothing more than to wipe those tears away. I dashed towards her, a smile brighter than the sun on my face.

She gave me a glance, then looked back down. I called her name again. Please, hear me out, I thought.

By the time I noticed the car speeding down the road, it was too late.

I had never seen a car crash before. I had also never seen anyone seriously injured. Especially someone I loved.

The driver of the car sped away after they realized what they'd done. My vision blurred before I could get the license number. It must have been at least fifteen seconds later when I stumbled towards what was once Sajana.

But as I got closer, I realized she was still breathing. Her eyes - still as beautiful as ever- were wide open.

"Sajana," I whispered, kneeling beside her. "Listen to me. I love you. Please. Please believe me."

Her body was bloody and crumpled, but I put my hands on her shoulders and shook her.

"Don't go!" I shouted. "I know it sounds stupid, but...  I do love you. It was strange. It was as if I fell in love with you in one day. Oh, it sounds even more stupid saying it out loud than thinking it, but it's the truth. Before that I kind of just had a crush on you, but now, now I love you. Listen to me, Sajana! Believe me!"

I laid my forehead on her shoulder and choked back tears. I had only one shot.

Quickly, I pecked her lips, which were the only part of her face not splattered with blood. Sajana didn't say anything, but I saw a tear rolling down her blood-stained cheek. It made a line of sorts, a path almost.

It was a path to something else.

Before I knew it, my mother was outside beside me, frantically phoning an ambulance. She practically grabbed me by the arm and pulled me up. She scanned my body, the fear evident in her eyes.

"Holden, baby, are you okay?" she gasped, my face in her sweaty palms. My watery eyes met her concerned ones. I took a glance at Sajana. Her eyes were closed, and so was her mouth. I closed my own eyes, a tear spilling from my eyelid as I heard the approaching sirens.

"No," I whispered, and I ran.

A/N

Sorry that was soooo late, I kind of had writers block. I mean, I knew how the story would go, I just didn't know how to write it to evoke feeling, you know what I mean? I would really appreciate it if you guys would give me feedback on this chapter, or just tell me if you felt anything, anything at all. It would be good for me to improve my writing skills.

P.S. This story is almost done!
