Gilda's P.O.V.
I felt guilty when I brought the milk back home unpaid for. But that guilt was nothing compared to what I was feeling right now.
As I stood there, trying to calm down Sajana, my own eyes became moist. I thought about what these girls had to go through every day. I felt terrible about saying no to her. I felt terrible for not reaching out to her. But at least I was doing so now.
Her tears subsided eventually, as did mine. I sat back down in the chair, the knowledge of what I had to do weighing heavily on my mind.
"Sajana," I said, " I have a confession to make."
