This is the life he wanted, the one he thought he was never going to have, and he felt content, his job, his house and the person he loves, being here with him. The university was having an open day, and Shen Wei was organising his own speech to encourage interest in the Ancient History course collecting the information from his office to be included when he collapsed without warning. His knees gave way and he crumpled silently to the floor, sending his papers flying all over the room.
At work in the special unit, Yunlan was in the middle of a report, when his movements became sluggish and the team slowly melted from his sight to be replaced by the image of Shen Wei lying on the floor in his office at the university. Swaying, he reached for the nearest desk and Chu stepped forward to catch him,
"Shen Wei?" he asked, "Yes." Yunlan answered.
He dismissed the briefing sending the team out of his office, giving him a chance to ask Chu if Wei had taken the antidote to the virus,
"No he didn't yesterday, he was busy checking on the guard's health." Chu answered.
Yunlan was angry and worried, he knew how badly the virus could affect him and he had to work fast to reduce it's severity. He called the guard medic who appeared instantly waiting for orders, and explained the circumstances, asking him to collect the antidote from Chu's house and bring it to the university for Shen Wei. Leaving his office, Yunlan then went out to speak to his team, stating that he would be off work for a few days to look after his partner who was ill. The team didn't really need an explanation, they had already assumed that something was wrong with Shen Wei by the reaction of Yunlan's automatic mental alert system. Chu and the guard had already left to collect the antidote and bring it to the university where Yunlan would be waiting. The cat had been listening to everything, and asked Yunlan how on earth did he expect to get to the professor before Chu, and he was forced to reveal his last secret.
Standing in the middle of his office, he opened his hands fully as he turned one complete slow circle and the familiar colour of his turquoise flames appeared surrounding his feet as he said to the cat, "Not One Word." And he disappeared, arriving in Shen Wei's office before Chu and the guard. He ran over to Wei and checked his pulse, he was alright, just a little warm as his temperature had started to rise. This was to be expected because that's what had happened to him years ago, except there was no antidote developed at that time, just as Chu and the guard arrived with the drug and injected it into his arm.
Yunlan asked him, "How long for it to take effect?"
He answered, "It shouldn't take too long because he's already had the effects of the strings in his system and fought the virus then, so this is more like a booster, he should recover quickly, but no work for him today or the rest of the week."
Chu went along to the dean and explained that he was the professor's private doctor and that due to an unexpected reoccurrence of a virus, he would not be attending the university until he had recovered and the guard immediately transported them back to Wei's house.
