Shen Wei stirs slightly and opens his eyes to see Chu and Da Qing close by, monitoring both him and Yunlan during the illusion, and he smiles at them saying,
"Hopefully this will be over when Yunlan wakesup and he won't remember anything."
"What if he does? He can be very unpredictable, the effect of the virus is supposed to cause memory loss when the mission is completed." Chu asked and Shen Wei answers him frowning while gazing at his sleeping partner, and sighed,
"We'll need to watch him for a while. I'll sit with him tonight, and you and Da Qing can get some sleep before work tomorrow."
Chu agreed as they were all showing signs of tiredness, and if it was a success, it would lead the way to a cure for the other victims. Leaving them alone, Chu and Da Qing closed the door quietly nodding while passing the guard as they headed towards their own rooms for some rest. Yunlan slept soundly, the first for a long time, no noise, no loud voice arguing, and no pounding headache, just steady breathing and desperately needed rest. Wei studied his face while he slept, no worry lines in his strong brow and a steady rise and fall of his chest breathing. He raised his hand to move a lock of his hair from his forehead back in to place and breathed a sigh of relief, hoping beyond hope that Yunlan would never remember any of the illusion used to falsely complete the kill order.
The next morning, Wei slipped out before Yunlan awoke, returning to his own room for breakfast and a change of clothes, leaving the guard at the door with instructions to accompany him to the laboratory when he was ready to go to work. Chu and da Qing had already started to organise their tasks for today when Yunlan arrived with a huge smile, greeting anyone and everyone on his way there.
"Good morning everyone, how are we all on this beautiful morning, ready to perform some miracles of science? And where is my handsome dark eyed beauty, has he slept in?"
Both of them stared at him trying to study his face for signs of menace or was he being honest, it was Chu who spoke to him first.
"Did you sleep well, no headache?"
Yunlan smiled, "Like a top, and,.... headache from hell, ... gone."
Then Da Qing asked him, " Have you had any breakfast?"
"Yes,... and a lovely guard walked me all the way here, very kind of him, we had a good conversation, although he mainly listened,...... I don't think guards talk much."
Then he spotted Shen Wei entering. "Good morning sunshine of my life, I had a wonderful night, great sleep and no headache, I only have one regret, and that is, I woke up alone. We should rectify that in the future."
Shen Wei was stunned and frozen to the spot, unable to speak, glancing between Chu and Da Qing who were also showing shock over Yunlan's unexpected behaviour.
