"Mam, we are here" Parinidhi raised her head and her gaze landed on the huge building. the car went towards the parking lot and she got off the car. Without waiting a second She went towards the elevator and pressed the button. she tapped her feet on the ground impatiently while waiting for the elevator. She went inside the elevator and pressed the top floor button. it's a highly secured building in the Mumbai where her luxurious apartment is on the top most floor. No doubt she likes when everything is under her feet.
But today the reason for her impatience is not her sister who threatens to steal her the makeup kit which she bought for herself, if she gets home late but she is expecting someone in her house by now, whom she has been missing a lot.
As soon as she stepped out of the elevator, she ran towards her apartment. The apartment which she shares with her sister. Not a biological sister but sister by heart. Growing up without a mother and having a father who is literally the world's best father, Parinidhi never had a feeling of lacking the love of a parent.
Her sister Sanjana, is the daughter of the nanny she grew up with, but due to some health issues Sanjana's mother died. Sanjana's father wanted to marry and taking care of a child was not his concern. This all happened when they were still in the school which made Parinidhi's father Rakesh Gupta to take her in. They were not that settled but not poor either. He works in a private bank as a manager and he was glad to take Sanjana under his care.
Parinidhi and Sanjana have a year difference which made them more of a Best friends than sisters.
Opening the door, her nose filled with the burnt smell making her scrunch her nose.
"For god sake, Sanju I've clearly said don't you ever try cooking. I don't want to see the kitchen on fire" grumbling and muttering curses she removed her shoes.
"I was just trying" she heard her sister but frowned not see her father in the house like she expected. She looked at her sister who stood pouting at her which clearly indicates that he didn't come.
Parinidhi groaned rubbing her face and settled herself in the couch. Opening her phone she dialed the number, after two rings her father answered the call "How was your day Pari?" she didn't react but sat there glaring at the television in front of her while breathing heavily.
"I'm so sorry, my boss didn't give me leave at the last minute" hearing it the her hold on the phone tightened and her glare intensified. This is what she hate the most, her father working in this age even when she insisted many times to resign. But he had to be stubborn and about his boss, if it's not her father stopping her, she would have destroyed that small private bank a long time ago.
"Won't you talk to me?" Parinidhi didn't reply but gritted her teeth. She is really not good with expressing, the only thing she can do properly is getting angry. She gulped the lump formed in her throat. Only she know how much she wish to cage her father with her in this house. He stays far from here and she literally completed the work of one week in 3 days to spend the whole week with her father but all in vain.
She hang up the call while flaring her nose, It's been almost 6 months she saw him. Whenever she plans to visit him, he denies because Parinidhi has severe motion sickness, she can't travel far places without falling sick and her father couldn't afford it.
"Nidhi, It's Okay, he promised me that he will visit the next weekend." Sanjana tried to explain. Parinidhi sighed, her gaze landed on the television where the news highlights are coming. A smirk formed on her lips seeing the businessman Amit Mehra being arrested.
"Wait! he is the one right who cursed you in the morning on the news right?" Sanjana mumbled being shocked making Parinidhi chuckle. "The evidence of him torturing his brother for signing the property papers is leaked. Police officers also confirmed that he is dealing with drugs in the party he was celebrating " Sanjana read the lines appearing on the screen and turned to Parinidhi with a grin.
She got up tiredly and went towards her room, she landed on her bed and a sigh escaped from her mouth feeling the softness of her bed. She looked at her phone wallpaper where she has the biggest smile anyone could have seen while her father looking at her with eyes filled with adoration.
She dialed his number again and kept it near her ear, he picked up as soon as it started ringing as if waiting for the call. " I know you are going to call, How was your day Pari ? "
No one ever calls her Pari except her father, maybe because the word sounds too pure to call a devil like her.
"I hate you Rakesh Gupta!" Hearing it her father laughed making Parinidhi smile. "I know my daughter loves me so much" Parinidhi sighed " If you are not coming the upcoming weekend, no one can save your boss from me" Rakesh laughed hearing her warning, as much as it made his laugh a part of him know that she will definitely do that.
"And you promised me that you are going to resign your job at the end of this year, Just reminding you incase you forgot" Rakesh smiled and replied " Of course you have my word"
Parinidhi shook her head in frustration " I Don't know why you have to do that job when your both daughters earn a lot. You need rest dad"
"What can I do? As you said I have two daughters. I have many responsibilities which include get them married one day. I have to earn money for it as a father" Parinidhi rolled her eyes at it.
"If you are earning for my marriage then It's waste of time dad, it's not going to happen in this lifetime"
"Okay, Fine. Fine" he said not wanting to anger his daughter. " Take medicines at time and don't take any stress" hearing her Rakesh replied " How can I forget about them when you kept a cc camera in the form of a human on me 24*7?"
Parinidhi shook her head at his sarcasm. She appointed a bodyguard and 2 maids for her father who literally follow him around making him irritated to the core.
"Okay Bye, good night and take care dad"
"Good night"
She was about to keep her phone aside when a notification catched her attention.
