“Muzan Kibutsuji.”

As you followed Master Ubuyashiki, you took notice of how modest he lived despite being rich..
His wife walked at his side, holding him upward to help him walk.. you felt sorry for him.

“Muzan Kibutsuji, the king of demons..was once a human.” he suddenly spoke, his voice was calming and polite as it had been earlier but now it sounded strained and tired.. “When he was human, he suffered from an incurable sickness.. Muzan travelled far and wide to different areas of the world to find a cure, but was unsuccessful.” he turned to face you, unseeing but you knew he could feel you and your uncomfort..

“A doctor he regularly visited, was testing experiments on Muzan.. but he didn't have much time.. for Muzan was told he wouldn't live past the age of 20.” he turned back and continued walking, you limped after him.. he was strangely fast for being so sick. “Experiment after experiment led to an increase in Muzan's strength and resistance to pain.. but frustrated with the stagnant process he murdered the doctor..” he stopped talking, and instead started coughing profusely as he fell to the floor.. you rushed forward but his wife was already at his side..helping him up. He pulled himself upward, leaning against the wall of the hallway..

“And it's because of his stubbornness he and all demons are unable to walk in the sun..”

Ubuyashiki's wife held him stable as they walked away toward his room, you started to walk away.. thinking about all of what he just told you.. you struggled to believe him but couldn't find a reason to why he would lie..

When you found the door you looked outside before leaving, it was dark and Shinobu still hadn't returned..you looked down the road worriedly as you thought back to what Master Ubuyashiki had said..

“And it's because of his stubbornness he and all demons are unable to walk in the sun..”

You looked back up the sky, it was getting darker and darker..
