Ollie wakes everyone up just before dawn, he even made pancakes. At first light we head outside and work our asses off on the fence. After last night, it's completely needed, makes me also wish we had some dogs for protection. We still need to go find chickens before they die from starvation in their coops.

Jack tells me we'll take the minivan and find me damn chickens tomorrow. First let's finish the fence so we're safer. It starts out hot today as we work, as the day goes on the sky fills with dark threatening clouds.

"Are there any buckets to catch water?" I ask Matt since he's been in the garage more than me.

"I'll go look." He sets down the log he was hauling, I pick it up taking it to where Aj and Rupert are building the current section of fence. We're nearly done, I just hope we can beat the storm coming in.

Matt starts moving five-gallon buckets under the over hangs of the roofs. At least the rain means I won't have to water the crops this evening. I feel a few drops start to fall and I rush over to the pile of logs Wally has made and take them over to Aj.

Leon finally calls it when the rain picks up, telling us all let's head inside and wait this out. "Rain here is weird it could take minutes to pass or it could be hours.

I make everyone coffee while we lounge in the living room flipping through channels trying to get an update on the situation. Only one channel is active and it's telling everyone not to panic, the military will take over soon. Please stay safe and indoors.

"Before the lines went dead, we were all issued orders to come back to base for an emergency." Wally says.

"Don't forget the text saying get inside now, right before the incident. They knew this was coming." Ollie says absently stroking my arm.

"That's insane, it was an attack." I say.

"Well, duh." Leon says. Aj punches him in the arm, "Hey, sorry. I just mean that everyone knew something like this could be possible. There's been so many movies and books. Something was likely to happen."

"I agree." Matt says. He glances across the room at me. "We may have to wait on the chickens depending on this weather."

"I think we should find a way to get to Woodland Park, who knows what supplies we'll find." I say.

Jack quirks his lips, "I guess we could use the east bound road. What would be good is moving those cars."

"Aren't there zombies trapped in most of them?" I say, totally freaked out at the idea of going to each car and opening them up to get inside.

"We could use the trucks eventually to pull them off the road." Leon suggests. "We need to be able to find fuel though."

"That's a good point." Rupert agrees.

I get up off the couch to go start dinner, I'm using the burgers tonight to make Salisbury steaks since we don't have any buns. Maybe with some frozen veggies too. The guys brought so much frozen food the freezer is full.

"I think we need to invest in solar for the fridge, freezer and stovetop." I mention out loud.

Matt wraps his arms around me, "I'll see if I can find some books on solar, so we know what supplies we're looking for."

"Thank you. Could you set the table for me?"

He kisses my cheek, "Sure thing babe." He starts grabbing out plates and silver wear.

"Aj come fill waters." I call to him.

He swaggers into the kitchen shirt off and jeans low as he does my bidding. I totally check him out while he reaches up to grab glasses.

"You checkin me out?" He smirks over his shoulder.

"Yes. And I'm not ashamed." I smile as I start serving up dinner onto serving trays.

"Smells amazing." Wally comes into the room swatting my ass.

"Did you fix the bedroom situation yet?" I ask him.

"I will after dinner." He gives me a big cheesy grin back.

"Everyone wash up." I yell at them from the dining room.
