Several hours pass, the trucks drove down to the Springs and back once more. As far as we know, they all are back at Woodland Park. Rupert worries they may have left some people along the highway to scout for them, that is highly likely. There's just no way to know unless we send someone out too. I worry my lip.
"Go check on Aj and Matt." Rupert says, pulling me close for a moment and kissing me firmly and quickly.
I scamper down the ladder colliding with Locklin, he chuckles steading me on my feet. "Aj and Matt want to check the road to make sure it's clear when the Army guys come back."
I arch a brow, "Ollie and Wally. I was honestly just thinking about that. Where do they want the rest of us?"
"River and Jack are staying with the cheerleaders. Leon and I are guarding our house. Aj would prefer you stay with us. Jack wants you with him. Where do you want to be?"
I roll my eyes, "Of course I want to stay in the house with you and Leon. I feel like we should stay hidden near the gate. The house is too far away to provide back up. And I'll need a gun." I nod to myself and storm off to the house.
Aj and Matt are loading up backpacks with supplies just in case. "I'd like to guard the gate. I just need a gun."
Matt gives me a grin, then glances over to the coffee table where several pistols are waiting. I grin, "Wonderful."
Aj growls, "I'd rather you stay here where we know you're safe. Maybe a good fucking would remind you that we need you."
I blush. Matt steps in front of Aj blocking his path. "No time. We need to clear the road. Rosemary, stay hidden on the property is all I ask."
I nod launching myself into his arms, for a big kiss before Aj takes me from Matt kissing me just as deeply before handing me to Locklin and leaving out the front door.
Now two more of my men are in danger. I take a deep breath, pick up a surprisingly heavy pistol. I give Locklin a glance, "Are you joining me."
He scratches the back of his neck, "Fine. Leon!"
Leon slides into the living room from the kitchen. "What happened?"
"We're going out to watch closer. Guard the house."
Leon nods, snagging my wrist and pulling me to him. "Stay safe love. Come back to me."
I give him a soft smile. "I always will."
Locklin takes a rifle, and two water bottles, I follow suit grabbing water and we leave the house jogging for the gate that is just closing, Aj and Matt disappearing from sight.
The brush is thick around the gate and tall fencing. "Should we split up on each side of the gate?" I look up into Locklin's eyes.
He studies the only coverage, which is mostly on the left side of the gate. He gives a slight shake. "We'll stay together in the brush. It might be better to stay on the roof with Rupert go take him two of the waters."
I nod jogging over to the nearby garage, I scale the ladder Rupert helps me up the last few rings easily pulling me up against him. I push the bottles in between us. He gives me a bit of a crazy smile.
"Thanks babe. What are you two doing at the gate?"
"I want to guard." I peer over the far edge realizing that from up here we can easily see more. "Maybe I should just stay up here though."
"How about we take turns. Send Locklin up here. You go take a nap, and check on everyone then relieve me in a few hours."
I nod, "Alright. That is smarter." With a groan I go backdown the ladder, jogging to Locklin. Who quickly agrees to the plan. Leon swingsopen the door pulling me, after explaining the plan to him as well. Leon setsme up on the couch to nap while he keeps an eye on Rupert and Locklin for anysignals.
