I refuse to let myself wallow in fear wondering if they'll make it back to me. I start doing the dishes then head out to turn on the sprinkler and meet Aj, Matt, River, and Rupert who have already started clearing the brush. By looks we have a quarter of a mile. Not really that long, but long enough to be really fucking annoying. With a sigh I put my gloves on and clear out what they've already chopped down. If it weren't for the thorns this would be the easiest part.
After two hours Jack has squeezed through the narrow section with a huge smile on his face, "Hey sis," he wraps me up in a hug and River does the same with Addy. "Everything going okay over here?"
I give him a big grin, "Everything is great we even have a rooster now. Are you two doing alright?"
He wrinkles his nose, but the smile stays bright. "We have a lot of work to do to prepare for winter, it's all fine though." He leans in close to my ear, "Can you show Addy how to take care of the garden?"
I roll my eyes, "Sure." Leon snags my waist, I like this possessive side of him. I give his chest a little push, he's being protective around my brother, yeah big threat there.
With a quick kiss to Leon I snag Addy's hand, "Let's go see what needs to be done." I smile at her. She gives me an uncertain look before sighing and following behind me through the narrow path.
"Can't I get a tour of your house first? Or lunch? I'm hungry."
I arch a brow at her, "Work first. Then we'll get food. You have plenty of food at the house, why didn't you eat breakfast?"
She rolls her eyes, "Jack wanted the path done."
"My boys did too."
"How's that going?" I can't see her expression since I'm in front of her.
I can't help my smile, "It's going wonderfully. I never knew I could love so many men."
"Love?" She snorts, "You can't be serious you barely know them."
I turn around for a moment to study her, "You don't love my brother?"
She bites her lip and shrugs, "We were both single. I don't know yet, still letting things develop."
I roll my eyes facing forward again, whatever, my brother is pretty much an adult he can make his own decisions. I go straight to the garden feeling a little bad for abandoning it. The soil is super freaking dry. With a sigh I spin back to Addy, "Turn on the sprinkler. This should be watered twice a day."
She huffs as she stomps to the water spicket and turns it on. "I only forgot about it this morning."
"I doubt that's true, but seriously you'll starve to death if you don't get these crops growing." I tell her. "Pull the little weeds that have started to pop up."
"Right now?"
"Yes." I say exasperated. "Have you started reading any of the gardening books?"
"No, as you said just water everything." She pauses by the gate, "How much water does it need?"
"Thirty minutes, then move it. You got this? I want to get back."
She chuckles, "Already clingy?"
I arch a brow at her, "You're one to talk." I shake my head, then head back through the narrow pathway. The guys are hard at work making it a little wider. As I pass by I swat Aj's ass, "Anyone want water or anything?"
"Sure water would be great babe, thanks." Rupert says.
I grin and sashay to the house.
