While everyone decides what rooms they are staying in, I can't wait to see the chickens! I blow a kiss to Aj and take off down the stairs and out the back door.

Matt snags my waist as I skid towards the back door, "Where are you off to in such a rush?"

"Chicken coop, want to join me?"

"Sure. I'm finished unloading everything. I put your backpack in the room with the biggest bed."

"Thank you." I give him a peck on the cheek before spinning out of his grip and tugging him with me towards the back.

The back yard is a big expanse, of rock and natural brush and flowers. Really no upkeep there which is nice.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Matt asks me.

"It is." I grin, I hear the clucking before I see the double coop chicken enclosure. I rush back behind the staff cottage and see two coops that look like houses, big enough to walk inside, and an enclosure joining the two. It's really nice.

"Why are there only five chickens if there is so much space?" I muse.

Matt starts searching for any gaps in the enclosure to see if any got out. "No way they would have here, help me refill their food and waters. I know Locklin did, but they've already gone through most of it."

Together the task takes twenty minutes, we decided to clean the coops while we were at it.

"Okay so tomorrow is the fence then can we start going through neighborhoods?" I ask him.

"Let's go discuss it with you men." He ruffles my hair, I swat him away and race back to the huge mostly windowed house. The tan and brown tones make it match perfectly into the landscape, it really is nice.

Out of curiosity I skirt down the yard to try and see the log cabin. After a bit of squinting I do see it down a ways, at the moment it's thick brush blocking the way down. It means no zombies will be getting through this way, also is annoying to cut through to make an easy path between the two properties. I think we shouldn't use the driveway too often. I mean how many people came up it already?

"Matt?"

"Yeah?"

"What if they get attacked and we aren't there?"

He squints down at the log cabin, raising an arm and waving to where we see Jack and Addy looking this way. "Hmm, too bad we didn't get those walkie talkies. That's a good question. We'll bring that up. Come on we should start dinner."

I follow him back through the yard and through the back door. Leon is lounging in a chair in the kitchen, "I was wondering where you ran off to." He smirks at me.

"Just checking out the chickens. Have you found any sort of communication devices? I want a way to contact Jack."

He shakes his head, "Haven't looked though. Want help making dinner?"

I glance at Matt, "Sure the three of us can do that. What do you want?"

Leon smirks opening a cabinet, my jaw drops at the full freezer that blended into the cabinets.

"Wow that's cool." We sort through the frozen items, I see a whole pile of steaks. "We should save those. I pull out a few things of ground beef setting them aside."

Then open up the fridge pulling out some of the veggies that the guys found in the store. "Stir fry? Pasta?" I ask.

Leon looks in the pantry pulling out a few boxes of pasta. "Something hearty tomorrow will be busy."

"Did you decide on rooms?" I ask.

Matt snorts a laugh, "I'm staying the main with you."

Leon grins down at me, "I picked the one next to it. I don't mind cuddle time, I'd just like my own space."

I shrug, "I get it."

Locklin comes into the room, grinning mischievously, I arch a brow at him. "It was just nice to shower in luxury. I may have been imaging sharing it with you." His eyes go hungry.

I blush, "So, you want to be part of this craziness?"

He closes the distance between us, pinning me to the counter. His lips press against mine, when he bites me, I gasp and open up for him. "Does that answer your question?"

I giggle, "I suppose. What room did you choose?"

"One on this level. I want to be the first line of defense."

Matt laughs, but it's Leon who says, "Or the first to get out."

Locklin grins, still staring down at me, "Maybe."

"That didn't answer anything." I laugh.

He shrugs, "I'm going to go see what's around the property."

"Be careful." I tell him ashe disappears out the back door.
