I slowly opened my eyes and let out a stretch. In hopes that I could expel my weak moment I had last night so he couldn't see it on me today. As if stretching could do that. Oh, well.
I peeled myself out of the cozy king bed I have and went straight into the wash for some needed tlc. I've been neglecting self-care lately. Battle after battle with the resistance lead us to some R&R back home. Since then, I have been in hibernation. Just watching everything and everyone pass me by.
I haven't yet seen my team since being back on Starkiller, I had every intention of returning to them and continuing my work with the 501st. But Snoke had other plans for me and that is one person I couldn't afford to disobey.
I looked up from the sink into the mirror at my reflection.
"Man, Kylo was right. I look like shit."
"You are beautiful." A voice too familiar to me whispered into the force.
I hate when he tries to find me in the morning. Just let me be ugly. Alone.
"I know you're not talking to me." I snipped back at him.
"Just you."
"I need to get ready, leave me alone."
The connection ended swiftly.
I turned on the water to the shower to rinse off last night's emotions, as stretching did nothing for me. Since today was training, I was not going to put effort into my appearance today. The lost of sleep would unfortunately be prevalent on my face.
On my stroll to the training deck, I was searching for Kor. I knew he was around here somewhere and I wanted to see him before I would be trapped training all day.
I reached out in the force to him.
"Kor? You there?"
"I'm here Lex. Everything okay?"
"Yes, of course. I just haven't seen you since Aldhani and I wanted to have breakfast with you."
"I'm caught up in work right now, catch you at the brief later."
"Well, don't work too hard. Meet for lunch then?"
"I'll let you know."
Did he sleep wrong or something? He seemed so closed off. Or did I say something to offend him?
It will be weird not starting my day with Kor.
I approached the two massive doors to the training deck. I hesitated for a moment. Do I want to train with him? I would rather train with Snoke right now than Kylo. I just need to remind myself to put up the walls so he can't read me. He found me this morning, that is all he gets to know about me right now.
"Commander!" Shouts Ap'lek.
"Hey buddy! Its been a hot minute." I walked over to him to give him a hug.
"Yeah we've all been out. Doing Supreme Commander things y'know." He said with a chuckle.
"No work and all play?" I joked back at him.
He just smirked at me and walked over to the mat.
"Where is our Supreme Leader anyways?" I looked around trying to find him. When I block off the force, it's also hard for me to sense other people. At this moment, I'd rather be surprised than let Kylo read me like a book.
"He is coming. Had a late night meeting."
And that is why I'm glad I didn't give into my weakness and stay on the Supremacy with him. I'm sure he found someone to fulfill his late night needs.
