It was dark. The wind was flowing through my body, that I almost collapsed with it alongside the trees. I looked up to see the sky churning and burning with anger as the clouds were forming and turning darker. The wind was flooding my ears as I kept walking through the tree line. I was searching for something, but I didn't know what I was searching for.

I felt the ground shake as the storm began building up and was about to unleash its fury down on me. I held my arm over my head to shield me from the water dropping from the sky. I felt like I had been here before, like there was something I was holding onto to here.

I heard an explosion in the far distance and I began running towards it. Regardless of what was on the end of the noise, I wouldn't regret finding my possible purpose of being here. I got even closer and could hear voices yelling out at each other. Blasters being sent back and forth. The tracers lighting up the dark area we were all in.

There were several blaster rounds aiming towards one area where only a few were being sent back. I crept forward, trying to get a glimpse of the fight that was unfolding in front of me. I felt my heart flutter. I felt like I had to save them. I had to step in and stop whatever was occurring in front of me.

I looked over the brush I was crouched behind, waiting to hop over and slay my new enemies. I took a deep breath, pulled out my blast from my holster, and adjusted my armor on my chest. I then saw a glow.

A red glow.

My breathing stopped. I felt stuck in position and couldn't move. I kept my eyes fixed on the thing responsible for the red glow.

I saw a woman with a long braid, leapt over the down tree log she hid behind. She was in baggy clothes, and her hand was close to her chest. Almost as if it was wounded. She approached her first victim and shoved into the poor human, and knocked them to the ground. She twisted and sliced them in half.

I've seen this move before. I've seen someone preform that exact killing blow with grace, with beauty, and with ease. I blinked my eyes in disbelief and attempted to stand, but my knees failed me.

I attempted to call out to her, but I couldn't speak. I couldn't move anymore. I screamed her name, "Lex!" But no noise left my lips. I slammed my hands into the ground in rage and tried to pull myself up. I had become overwhelmed with anger, and violence. I yelled and screamed more, to gather her attention. And yet I was speechless.

The beating of the rain grew and grew, the drops were bouncing off my armor. I could see her in the distance taking her lightsaber and scorching her enemies, one by one. I was swelled with pride, seeing her defend herself. The precision she has always had on her side, how she fights as swiftly as the wind. Leaving no prisoners, taking the last breath of each person she sets her sights on.

She was so beautiful.

The glow began to disappear into the trees, as she had advanced on her enemy. Yet, I still sat here. Unable to embrace her. I couldn't feel her anymore, but I have seen her.

I jolted myself awake, and I ripped off the covers on my body. I felt clammy. I put my head in my hands and sighed. I had gotten so close to her, but yet she was still out of my reach. Whether my dream was a creation of my own, I was grateful to see her. I had wanted to forget how she moved. I had accepted my fate of never being able to stand next to her again, either as lovers or friends.

My dreams failed me. They had awoken my desire to find her. Either she be alive or dead, I knew I had to discover for myself. But to find out how.

------------------------------------------------------------

I sighed again and cracked my knuckles at the endless chatter of these officers throughout our hologram meeting. We were discussing the approach to invade Aldhani. I didn't want to be here. I claimed that it has been years since I've last been there and I didn't know the land very well anymore. I use to feel awful for lying, but I felt like I had to protect my homeland. Someone had to.

I wasn't sure if Aldhani would be well protected enough with the Resistance. I want to be wrong. I want to be assured they have the resistance and more with them, defending themselves. To invade my own planet has ripped apart my heart. I felt truly hopeless. I felt worthless. And I felt like my purpose has been fulfilled here. I would do anything to stop this. I would give my life for my planet.

"Commander?"

"Send me the report," I quickly said and slammed the button down to end this meeting. I stepped out into the command room to watch over the cameras and reports.

"I couldn't believe it either," Cody leaned in and whispered to me.

"I just never thought it would happen," I said and crossed my arms. There has been a lot that has happened that I never thought would happen to me. Even to her.

"Didn't get around to replacing that forearm plate yet?" Cody questioned and gestured to my missing beskar armor.

"Did you give it to her?"

He nodded.

"Thank you, Cody."

"Always."

Cody turned and headed out. I had promoted him to platoon officer, he would command my troopers and arrange everything they needed. He needed this break. He needed a breath of fresh air, away from Starkiller. It seemed like Starkiller sucked all the desire for life out of every single one of us. And those that stayed there, didn't have a soul to begin with.

I didn't know my future here anymore. I didn't know where I belonged within these ranks. I needed to find the strength to stay and to find her.

But here, within these walls, is world I am condemned to live in. Despite myself, I must somehow live. I am still trying to find where my fate lies.
