Hanna Marin wasn't at school for a month. Her heart, she felt, suffered alone but her cries of pain and sadness went not unheard.
-Ashley Marin (Hanna's Mum)-
I'm so worried for Hanna. I don't know what her situation is and she won't tell me. I feel like the worlds most terrible mother, just seeing her like this. It's heartbreaking.
I hear a faint knock on the door.
I walk to the door, pj's and ugg boots, and am surprised to see a boy.
A boy I don't know but I feel like I do...
Hmm...
I'm actually going insane.
Wait.
"Be right back," I run upstairs, grab Hanna's locket (thank goodness she was sleeping) and run back down again.
The familiar boy is still there.
I open the necklace.
"Holy cow," I say.
"Are you Mrs Marin?" He asks.
"Y-yes," my expression grows sterner.
"Look. I don't know what is going on with you and my daughter but all I know is that she cries every single night alone in her room, clutching this," I hold up the locket, "to her chest. She hardly comes down for dinner but when she does, she's silent and is still wearing it. I'm pretty sure she lives in that thing! She hasn't been to school for a month. And I feel bad for her!"
The boy goes pale. As pale as I've ever seen a boy in my life.
"Are you alright?" I look at him.
"I need to see her," he says confidently, "Now."
"Upstairs," I say dazedly, "Oh but before you go, you might want to take this," I hand him the locket.
I watch him struggling upstairs with his crutches and plastered leg and smile. This is that boy. That boy who will do anything for her. That boy who will take a bullet for her. That boy that will suffer just to see her face. He is that boy. And I can see it.

-Caleb-
I look at the locket. It's that funny picture of us at the movies when she had mascara down her face and she looked like a zombie. I almost cry.
I see her name painted on the surface of her door. I knock. She must be sleeping. I slowly push down the handle and lightly open the door. Oh no. Her room is an emotional wreck. I'm not sure if you can say that but it's the only way I can describe it. I can hardly make out where her bed is but I see little Hanna laying silently on its surface. Little Hanna. Poor Hanna. My Hanna.
As I manoeuvre my way through the broken glass and trashed clothes I notice how serious her mother actually is.
Her eyes, though closed, I swear could become 3D at any time. They're so swollen you would have thought she got stung by a bee! I was that bee. If only I had been more careful.
I look up. All the pictures we've taken over the past five months are plastered in the wall. I smile as I look at them. And then I look at her. She's looking at me. Well, it seems like it. She can hardly open her eyes.
"Hey Mum," she half cries.
I go with it and say, "Why are you crying?"
"I had the best dream ever," she says, "I dreamt that he was here with me. He was looking at my photos and smiling at my locket."
"It's not a dream Han," I say, "I'm here."
