Allie walked into her homeroom.

The name 'Ms. Starr' was written on the corner of the whiteboard in cursive letters.

Allison stood in the doorway and smiled slightly when Ms. Starr started walking towards her. Ms. Starr was a little taller than Allie and has short gray hair. The lady was kind of stubby, but dressed in a blazer and skirt, very properly.

Allie expected sharp words from her. She was startled when Ms. Starr sweetly said, "Hello, you may sit down over there." Allie looked at her finger with a surprised expression and nodded. Ms. Starr seemed to have picked up on the fact that Allie was surprised and said, "I may seem strict, but I can assure you that you have a warm welcome to my classroom every morning. Would you like to introduce yourself, or do you want me to introduce you?"

"You can introduce me," Allie said softly and went to go to her seat.

There was a black-haired boy sitting in front of her. His hair seemed soft, and his bangs fell just right.

"Hi, I'm Harry. You must be new. What's your name?" He said.

Allie forgot she was in school, and quickly responded with, "ya hi, I'm Allie, and I'm new. Just moved a few days ago."

That was a lie, she had been in the city of Fremont, Ca for a few weeks, but she didn't feel the need to explain herself and just said the easiest thing.

She looked around the classroom and saw kids talking to their friends.  Allie didn't expect to make friends for a few weeks, and she didn't feel like talking to anyone anyway.

The other 3 people on her table introduced themselves, but she just pretended to pay attention. She didn't even have the energy to smile. She laid her head on her arms on her desk and began thinking, which was not a good idea for her, because the first thing that she thought about was her past, and she didn't want to start shaking and panicking like a freak.

Suddenly, the bell rang and startled her. Ms. Starr started taking attendance.

"Ah, yes, Allison Raynott. I know all of you noticed our new student, Allison. Please welcome her to this hellhole of a high school. Chat amongst yourselves, work on school work, or read until the bell, and then you guys get out of here. Keep the volume low, and don't light anything on fire." Ms. Starr said as she made her way to her desk. As she sat down, she gave a soft smile to Allison.

Allie decided not to get too lost in thought and pulled out a book to read. She always loved reading and was actually happy to get lost in a plot and stop thinking about life.

The bell rang, and she put her book in her bag and started heading to her first period. This was going to be a long day, and Allie just wanted to go home and sleep.
