Meira's POV
A lot of busy people, horses pulling carriages, and wagons, vendors shouting to attract people, and beautiful bandanas hanging from house to house. I fell in love. I never knew my kingdom was such a beautiful place. I am quite shocked at seeing other species here in our kingdom, but it looks like everyone is living in harmony so there's no problem.
While my castle walls are painted white, with blue roofs, it contrasts with the red roof tiles of my citizens. How peaceful...
"Never saw your kingdom up close didn't you?" Zachariah asked, I nodded in reply.
"Even a single time, I never saw my kingdom up close. I'm always on top of that tower while looking at these beautiful sceneries." I said while smiling. As we walked away from the castle, I began to notice something. Discrimination.
There are a lot of people arguing in different places. Nobles looking down on commoners. My happy mood faded away. This is just not right, I thought to myself.
"Where are we going now?" I asked Zachariah.
"Since the sun is about to go down soon. We will be heading to an Inn that I know, we will stay there for a night then we could finally officially leave Lapeidonia. Though I will tell you that it is also a tavern when the clock strikes 5 pm." Zachariah said. After a while of walking, we finally reach the Inn that Zachariah was saying.
It's a wooden and cobblestone house with a sign on it. The Jewish Pearl Inn. With a symbol of pearls and a wine glass.
We walked inside and medieval music greeted us. There are a decent amount of people already in here, later many more will come. The smell of wine reeks in the Inn and... as expected, there are drunk people. I am a bit afraid to look around, There are drunk mercenaries who if angered may cause chaos in the Inn so I stuck with Zachariah instead.
"Welcome, ~!" The bartender greeted us with a smile. He was in the middle of mixing some drinks when we entered. But he did notice my presence beside Zachariah. I suddenly got nervous since this was my first time speaking to a stranger outside my castle.
"Can I get a room for two?" Zachariah said. The bartender gave him a silly weird look.
"Ooohh... who is that lovely lady over here? Is it your girl-" He tried to tease Zachariah but he failed. I could tell that they are a bit close, to the point where you can make jokes about a Prince. Does he even know who Zachariah is? This guy must be important if that's the case.
"Adriel..." Zachariah called him with a warning tone. Adriel froze in fear when Zachariah glared at him. "She is just a companion of mine."
Adriel rolls his eyes as he pours the drink into the glass. So his name is Adriel huh...
"Fine, Your Majesty." He said sarcastically. He wrote something in the notebook and opened his palm. "Payment?"
Zachariah gave him a pouch of silver coins. "Hmm, this is enough," Adriel said and gave Zachariah a key. "Room 3,"
"Let's go, I rented a room which has two separate beds. But don't expect much luxury okay?" Zachariah explained, who looked away, averting my gaze. I was confused about why he suddenly averted his eyes, but I nodded in reply.
I followed Zachariah as we went up the stairs which is the Inn part of the building and stopped at a room with the number "3" on it. Zachariah unlocked the door using the key, We entered the room and there were indeed two beds separated from each other and a very small bathroom.
