In their waters, deep and true

Lie the answers and a path for you

Dive down deep into their sound

But not too far or you'll be drowned

Yes, they will sing to those who'll hear

And in their song, all magic flows

But can you brave what you most fear?

Can you face what the river knows?

Meira's POV

The sun shone in through the tent, warmth in the air as it touched my skin. I woke up hazily and noticed that Zachariah was not in the tent anymore. Huh, is he outside? It's quite noisy outside.

I sat up as I rubs my eyes before I realized it, shadows were approaching the tent's entrance. I immediately felt that something was wrong, I knew deep inside that it wasn't Zachariah, if it was not him... who would it be? Assassins? Thieves? Grims?

My heart was throbbing so fast, that I mustered up all my courage to go out of the tent. When I did...

The light shone on my eyes making my eyes blind for a second until it adjusted. I saw...

"Al? W-What are you doing here, how did you find me?" I began to panic. What is he doing here, how did he? I suddenly remember Zachariah. Where is he? Did he abandon me?

"Your Highness, I'm here to bring you back. Don't worry about that, your father is worried sick. You need to get back to the palace." Al told me. There was a hint of anger in his voice, I don't blame him. As I silently followed him towards the carriage, I saw Ryu already in it. Looks like I'm going back home huh?

How did they even find us?

I looked around my surroundings and saw many royal guards but that wasn't my concern right now. I'm looking for signs of Zachariah's whereabouts. Though his baggage is still here in the area, he is nowhere to be found. But in the end, I just gave up.

He must've left me huh...

"Meira, let's head back home," Al called me.

What if... I'll try to run away? Could it be possible for me to escape? I am in deep in my thoughts that I can't hear Al. Can I even outrun the guards? How about Al? No doubt he could easily chase me.

But I am forgetting something-

Al was about to grab me when I unintentionally pushed him away, causing him to fall to the ground. We were both shocked but when I realized that this was an opportunity to run, I used that chance to run into the woods.

...I'm also trained the same way Al was trained. I can outrun him.

"Guards! Chase her!" I can hear Al scream. The footsteps of the guards are chasing me, but not fast enough to capture me.

"Meira," I looked to my side and saw Ryu. "Are you sure this is a good idea?"

"Not really, but it's worth the try," I said positively. I then focused on my path. Boulders, rocks, branches, and tree trunks are in the way. If I ever tripped once, I'll get caught. I really need to focus.
