Meira's POV
I slowly opened my eyes and stared at the rocky ceiling... Am I still in the cave? I tried to get up but my body aches the moment I move, and a towel fell from my head. What the? I need to get up, the grims might come-!
I was immediately interrupted when Al walked in from the corner. When he saw me awake, he suddenly ran towards me and hugged me.
"I'm glad you're awake now." He gave me a relieved look. "You're safe now."
"But what about the grims? What happened to them?" I asked. Al stared at nothing for a few seconds but snapped out of it. I gave him a confused look, What was he thinking?
"The Prince and I took care of them, but most importantly... can you stand up?" He assisted me in standing up and I succeeded, "Great! You can take a rest here, I'll just help out with everyone. If you need something just go to the exit."
Before he could leave, I wanted to say something to him so I held his hand to prevent him from leaving.
"I'm sorry, I could've done better. Out of habit, I forgot that I already have this artifact to use..." I apologized. My mind totally blanked out, I was so used to being the damsel in distress, and yet I continued to be one when I already had the ability to protect myself.
"Don't force yourself okay? It's totally fine," Al replied with a reassuring voice. He let out a smile as he pointed to the tunnel where he came from. I nodded as he left me here to rest. Help out with everyone? I'm probably back at the camp.
I sighed in relief, I thought for a second that I was left alone in that cave... I sat back down and leaned my back on the wall. I placed my palm over my chest and tried to heal myself as I failed a few times and at last, it worked.
I sighed, I still have to get the hang of using magic.
I stood back up, and my body no longer ached. Healing is very useful, I'm glad Zeke taught me how to heal. Walking to the path where Al pointed, a curtain covered the entrance. I waved it to the side making me see that everyone was busy doing their own thing.
"Meira, there you are!" I was startled when Leigh called me. She's on the stream washing the blankets that Al and I found. It was such a surprise that she could do laundry but other than that, I'm glad the blankets are useful.
"M'lady, why did you get up? You should take a rest-" Everett was interrupted when Leigh smacked the wet blanket on Everett. He is now soaked in water.
"Don't listen to this guy, Ever since you were brought back here he's been so paranoid that it's ticking me off!" Leigh frustratedly complained. I laughed at these two, as always they were arguing.
"How long was I out?" I asked them.
"You were unconscious for an hour, I think." She said. My attention was diverted to Everett who was trying to get the water off his clothes using magic. Water droplets start coming off his uniform as it dries.
"Wow, you can dry yourself by manipulating the water. That's fascinating," I said in awe. I heard Leigh scoff and Everett mocked her. Gosh did I trigger them to fight again?
"I know right, I'm amazing." Everett boasted. "That's why I'm better than this 'ice queen', so know your place."
"Shut up water boy, you're not a single inch better than me," Leigh argued back. I laughed nervously as I got worried. I need to stop them, they're not acting like royals at this point.
