A Land Of Secrets: ATALANTE

PROLOGUE

"Ms. Claire! This is the 5th time I called you!"

I woke up to someone calling my name. I opened my eyes and I saw a blurry figure of a woman in front of me. A few seconds later and eyesight was brought back to normal and it revealed an angry old woman staring at me.

"Huh? Good morning Nanny." I said as I stretched out my arms. I glanced at her and she was glaring at me. Oh man, she is pissed.

"I'm very sorry Nanny!! I slept late because I watched anime all night-" oh sh*t. I shouldn't have said that.

"You. Did. WHAT?" She grabbed my blanket off my bed. Yikes, I'm gonna be dead if she tells Mom what I did!

"Please don't tell mom! I promise that I won't do it again!" I said with my palms together as if I were praying.

Her expression calmed down when she sighed heavily. "You know you have school today right? We don't have time for this because you are going to be late for the 3rd time this week! You better get your butt off that bed right now if you don't want your teacher to give you a week's worth of detention."

"Yes ma'am!" I got off the bed and hurriedly left to go to the bathroom. I quickly took a bath and wore my uniform. Then my next stop was the kitchen and I grabbed a sandwich that my Nanny prepared for me. There my big sister is sitting at the counter drinking her black coffee.

"Good morning big sis!" I greeted her. She smiled at me and gave me a signal to sit beside her so I did. Her name is Ambrose Cate, but I prefer calling her Cate or Big Sis.

"Wow, you're early for the first time lil' sis!" She said. I'm early? I thought I was getting late. I frowned when I realized it, Nanny tricked me into waking up early!

I heard Cate laugh at me so I glared at her. "You got tricked! That's why you got a grumpy face!" She continued to laugh at me while I ate my sandwich.

"Oh dear, what's up with your eyebags? Don't tell me you watched anime all night?!" She said. She knew me too well!

"Yes, I did! Even though I did watch it, I still haven't finished it yet. I fell asleep in the middle of watching it, my eyes gave in." She laughed at me.

"Weak!" she said, I just rolled my eyes at her. "What anime did you even watch that it's worth staying up late?"

My eyes opened and my smile widened. "It's a really good anime, honestly one of my top favorites... What was the title again?"

"Ohohoh, I can sense that someone is lying! How could you forget the title of your so-called 'top favorite' anime?" She said with a sarcastic tone. I am about to defend myself but thinking about it, I am guilty of forgetting the title. Cate laughed loudly and so did I. But then someone faked a cough behind us and when we looked, it was Nanny.

"You two should finish up your breakfast, you need to catch the bus today," Nanny told us.

"Huh? Why the bus Nanny? Is Sir Joel still sick?" My sister asked. Sir Joel is our driver, he got flu a few days ago and still hasn't recovered yet. I feel bad for him, being sick is a pain. I hate being sick, the nausea is unbearable.

"Unfortunately, and this time the other drivers are not available to drive the limo so you have to wait for your school bus. Your parents already called the principal to let you two ride the bus for at least a couple of days." She said.
