Kia's POV:
I woke up daily, but with no enthusiasm, no energy, nothing, just blank. I brushed my teeth, and took a leisurely bath, after all, I have no work, as my father said. I dressed in light pink thermal and white jeans. I dried my hair and applied some serums to it. I sighed looking at my reflection in the mirror.
What's the use of wearing some nice clothes when there is no one to care for and compliment you? I at least expect some comments on my dress, whether good or bad.
It's been 3 weeks and I didn't even attend Arjun and Arohi Aunt's engagement. I've seen their pictures on the internet; honestly, they look the best with each other. Arjun called me every single day but I turned my mobile to silent. I ignored his, Arohi Aunt's messages. And I've also heard that Arjun came here looking for me while I was away. I just texted him that I'm quite busy with some work. Since then, I have not received any message from him. Probably he is so hurt by my actions.
I'm tired of being that selfless bitch. I want to act for myself now. I want to take care of myself. How many more days will I wait for someone to come and look after me? And I'm sure no one would date me when I reveal that I don't want to marry anyone.
I grabbed a beige bag and made my way down to see both my parents who sat on the couch, talking to each other and having some morning tea. That's a sight to see as they always do is fight. I wet my lips and walked to the dining table to have an apple.
" Kia, come here and have some tea beta." My mother asked and I sighed. This lady never knew my preferences and suddenly asked me to have some tea with her.
" If you have ever observed Ma, I don't drink tea, I drink milk, with no sugar, all cold," I said munching my apple. Their faces paled when they heard me tell them my preferences.
" I'm allergic to seafood if you ever noticed because Dad always asks me to have fish and prawns with him when he is drunk." I said throwing an orange and a box of blueberries in my bag.
" If anyone comes looking for me, just tell them that I'm not home and won't be available for a few days." I said and my father sighed.
" Kia, we are sorry." My Dad took the initiative.
" For what?" I asked nonchalantly.
" Leave." He looked at his party members and security.
" For everything." My mother said.
" Why now? After all these?" I asked scrolling through my mobile for any messages or emails, but there are none.
" We know, we are never good parents for you Kia. Arjun said everything to us, that happened between you and his son." Dad said and a fit of anger rose in me. As soon as it rose, it disappeared, I'm too tired of fighting with the world now.
" And now, you suddenly realise that you people didn't take good care of me because someone pointed out my upbringing?" I asked rubbing my tired eyes.
" Kia stop poking our mistakes." My mother said and I stood up looking at the time. It's 9 already.
