13 - Return of the Overlord

Nyla's POV:

We returned to the camp to see Dr. Julien looking concerned. "What was that sound? The horns?" He asked.

"The Celestial Clock has reached zero. Garmadon's Ultimate Weapon is now operational, and the final battle between good and evil has all but begun." Sensei answered Dr. Julien. Lloyd looked down as Mother spoke. "Now Lloyd must face his father."

"But where's Nya?" Dr. Julien asked. "She's been taken by the Overlord, but we'll get her back." At the moment, there are bigger things at stake, including all of Ninjago itself." Sensei answered Dr. Julien once more.

Jay pushed his way to the front of the group, upset. "Who cares about Ninjago? Nya was my..." He trailed off. "You know." Kai walked forward, putting hand on Jay's shoulder. "And she is my sister. I know her being captured is tough, but she's tougher. Tougher than most of us. We'll see her again."

Sensei turned to Lloyd. "Lloyd, your focus gives strength to invoking the Power of the Golden Dragon. You cannot lose faith now. Everything rests on your shoulders." That really wasn't helping the situation though.

"But, Sensei, you saw what happened when I tried to face my father. I... froze. I can't fight him. " Lloyd said. It wasn't true that Sensei was with us, because Sensei was at Celestial Clock, but I kept quiet. I wasn't going to correct my brother right now.

"You must. It is written in the scrolls." Sensei spoke. Mother came up to Lloyd. "Remember, your father is just as scared."

"Then the battle will be decided by who is willing to fight." Wu spoke. I noticed Kai walk in front of Lloyd, summoning his elemental blade. "You won't be alone. I'll be right behind you. You have my fire."

Cole joined in. "You have my earth." Then Zane joined. "And my ice." Then Jay. "And lightning." I pulled my hood over my face and joined them. "I don't have an elemental blade, but you have my shapeshifting too." I said, sticking a fist out.

"We're all in this together, kid." Cole said, and I nodded. "What are we waiting for? Let's suit up." Lloyd said, and all of us readied ourselves for battle. I got a sword from the Bounty, before joining the others. 

"I'm ready." Lloyd said, and with that, we ran into the forest in the direction of Father's base.

"Get down. Now." Lloyd whispered as we approached the camp. We all got down, watching the entrance.

"They won't know what hit them." Kai said. "Time to chop wood." Jay added. We all then ran to the entrance. "Ninja, go!" We all yelled as we kicked down the entrance to reveal an empty camp.

We all pulled off our hoods. "Uh, where the heck is everybody?" Jay asked. "Ugh. And here I was all ready to release the thunder." Cole complained. "The Ultimate Weapon is gone. We're too late." Kai added. We all entered the base. "Nya? Nya!" Kai called for his sister. We got into a clearing where we heard the Falcon.

"My Falcon friend wants to show us something." Zane said. We followed it to find a massive whole in the wall, and massive tire tracks going through it. "That's one big weapon." Lloyd spoke.

I knelt down on one of the tracks, feeling it. "These are new tracks. Made probably five minutes ago? We need to hurry though." I spoke. Everyone stared at me awkwardly. "What? I'm just naturally good at tracking." I spoke, rubbing the back of my neck.

"It appears to be heading toward the coast." Zane spoke. "But why? Wouldn't he try to use it on us?" Lloyd wondered. "Not on us. On Ninjago." Sensei answered. "He always wanted to turn our world into his own image. Now we know how it will be done."

"But if he starts turning things evil, the balance will shift, and allow the Overlord to cross over into our world." Mother added. "Then we have to make sure that Father never fires that weapon." Lloyd said, before following the tracks. I followed, running next to him.
