1 - The Surge

Nyla's POV:

"Miss Nyla! Miss Nyla go out with us! We love you Miss Nyla!" Some boys yelled after me as I ran into the Teacher's Lounge and slammed the door behind me, locking it. The others turned to look at me.

"Geez! These kids are absolute savages! While the girls are tugging on my tail and wolf ears, the boys are straight up flirting with me!" I sighed as I sat down on the couch next to Zane.

"I'm so glad we have recess too." I sighed. All of sudden, Jay started to yell as he slammed the fridge door, making me jump a little in my seat.

"All right! Who took my pudding cup? My name was clearly written on it!" Jay said impatiently. Of all things right now, he was more concerned about who ate his pudding cup. And Cole wasn't making the situation better.

"I didn't see 'Motor Mouth' on it." Cole smiled as he finished the pudding cup. I walked up to Cole, rolling my eyes as I kicked Cole in the shin. "Ouch! Hey!" Cole said as he rubbed his shin. "Not funny, Cole." I said as I saw Kai had given Jay his own pudding cup.

Jay sat down on the couch next to Zane where I was just sitting. "But this isn't cold." Jay complained before Zane flipped a switch in his arm, freezing Jay's cup. Jay then happily started to eat his pudding cup as I looked for another seat to sit on.

"Is anyone else chapped that Lloyd gets to be the Golden Ninja and fly around, accepting awards while we're stuck here being teachers with no powers? Well, except you Nyla. You still have your power." Jay said.

"It doesn't mean I can escape my responsibility. As much as I would like to get away from all the flirting the boys give me." I sighed.

Nya entered the room, the sound of boys calling for her. Nya sighed as she sat next to me. "Boy trouble with you too?" I asked. She nodded.

"Why is it that every time I teach, I get the feeling that none of the boys are listening?" Nya asked, and I couldn't help but relate. Jay then approached us, before looking at Nya with a loving face. He was like all the boys here.

"Hi, Miss Nya. I saved you some pudding." Jay said, starting to hand her a pudding cup. Nya crossed her arms, looking annoyed. "What did we talk about?" Nya asked. Jay stopped and backed away a few steps. "Oh, right. Boundaries."

Nya then turned to all of us. "Hey, did you guys hear the news?" Nya asked. We all got excited. "There's trouble?" Kai asked. "Danger?" Jay added. "An emergency?" Zane asked. "A new menace?" Cole started. "Or villain?" I added to Cole's question. We all got into. fighting positions when Nya shook her head.

"No. We got clearance for a field trip." Nya said. We all groaned as we went back to our own business. "Not just any field trip. A field trip to tour Borg Industries.

"Ah! Not the Borg Industries. As in home to super genius reclusive savant Cyrus Borg? Inventor of the hover car and everything else cool in this world?" Jay said excitedly before Zane kicked him.

"Who cares about Cyrus Borg? If you ask me, people should concern themselves with the lessons of the past. Not waste their time on the disposable fads of tomorrow when—" Kai was cut off when everyone except me had left the room.

"I guess we should catch up to them." I said as Kai sighed and followed me out of the room.

We made our way outside to the bus when one of the boys, Brad, complained. "Why can't we take the Ultra Dragon? Or the Ultra Sonic Raider?"

Cole then grabbed the microphone from the front. "Because they don't have one of these. Pretty cool, huh? I'm on a microphone. I am the MC. The Mighty Cole." Cole spoke, doing a dumb dance in the front of the bus as he played with the microphone like a child.
