Nyla's POV:

We were getting our food when Dad was stopped. "Nu-uh. Nothing for you." The chef spoke to Dad. Dad sighed, turning to Lloyd and I.

"There's a valuable lesson here, kids. If you turn your back on your first evil sensei in an effort to go straight..." Dad started when the chef cut him off. "Next!"

"...you may not be served creamy biscuits." Dad finished as he stepped out of the line, and we grabbed our food.

"Well, I know what we are being served. A whole bunch of baloney. This isn't a fighting tournament. It's an alibi for Chen to steal everyone's powers. But we still don't know why." Lloyd said from beside me.

"Isn't it obvious? Chen wants to destroy New Ninjago City. I don't know what it is, but that place has had a string of bad luck." Kai spoke. "It really does though." I agreed.

"I'm not so sure. From what Sensei G's told us about him, I have a feeling it's something far more sinister." Cole voiced.

"And may I remind us, we still don't know where Zane is, which is why we all need to take care of our first rounds to give us more time. Don't look at me. I've already moved on." Jay joined in the conversation.

"Your opponent got himself kicked out." Cole grumbled.

"Either way, it's my day off." Jay laughed. "Lucky you." My voice dripped with sarcasm, but I was ignored as Jay got extra creamy biscuits.

"Taking a day off? And here I thought ninja never quit." Cole ventured. "And I used to think a ninja wouldn't steal your girlfriend." Jay snapped.

"Jay. Seriously? There are more important things than that right now." I sighed but was ignored.

"Whatever you have to say to each other, say it now, because harboring grudges hurts no one but yourselves." Dad started. "He's right. You should be preparing to fight your next opponent, not each other." Lloyd added.

"What grudge? I already dropped it." Cole assured. "I dropped it first." Jay argued. "Did not!" Cole hissed.

"Oh my gosh, stop it! Both of you!" I got in between them. "You two are idiots today, I swear!"

"He started it!" Cole nagged, and I elbowed him. "That's enough. The more you fight the more you separate us. We need to stick together if we're going to continue being a team." I scolded.

"Well I never asked to be here!" Jay snapped. I lost it at that moment.

"Oh? So Zane doesn't matter anymore? Us being family doesn't matter? You had a choice to come as much as I did. So stop your complaining and arguing." I growled before turning away, heading to the table and sitting down angrily.

The others joined me in silence as the intercom sounded. "The tournament of Elements continues. Fun time! Would the following Masters please make their way to their assigned arena? Speed, Gravity, Smoke, Nature, Shapeshifting, oh, and last and hopefully not least, Fire!"

Kai and I gasped as the others stared at us. "Remember, only one can remain." The voice on the intercom finished.

"Crap! That's two of us! What if one or both of us fail?" I asked as Lloyd put a hand on my shoulder. "You two can do this. You're strong."

I nodded as Kai and I got up, making our way to our assigned arenas.

+++++++

Everyone had gone through their battle except for myself. I was against the Master of Nature, Bolobo.

"Nyla, Master of Shapeshifting, versus Bolobo, Master of Nature. Fight!" Chen announced. I immediately shapeshifted into a kitsune, racing to the Jadeblade, when I felt rumbling under my paws.
