Nyla's POV:

The ferry stopped on the island, and we all got ready to get off. In front of us was a huge palace with weird servants standing outside as if awaiting to do a formal welcoming.

"Look at that." Cole began. "Awesome." Kai added, when a guy with metal fists pushed Kai out of the way. "Let me see."

"Do you mind?" Kai grunted as the guy with metal arms stood next to me. He took a glance at me and couldn't stop staring.

"Here Kai. Take my spot." I stepped back before going on the other side of Lloyd. These stares were getting creepy, annoying, and uncomfortable.

"Welcome to Chen's Island. The Tournament of Elements welcomes its brave fighters. Master Chen will be pleased you've returned, Sensei Garmadon." Clouse spoke in what sounded like a mocking tone before giving me a glance, then walking away.

"The pleasure is all mine, Clouse." Dad acknowledged as Clouse looked annoyed. "I'm sure it is."

One by one we made our way off the ferry and towards Dad. "Definitely feeling some tension between you two." Jay claimed as I nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, and how is it we're on an island I've never seen on any map?" Kai questioned. "And care to explain how the face to Ninjago's most popular noodle house is secretly assembling an underground fighting tournament?" Cole added.

"Master Chen used to be a friend. Now he's a traitor. During the Serpentine Wars, Chen turned against his own kind and sided with the treacherous snakes." Dad explained as Lloyd stared at him, shocked.

"The battle you and  fought together in? He was an enemy?" Lloyd questioned. "He used deception to divide the Elemental Masters. We barely defeated the Serpentine, and in a deal for his surrender, Chen was to never leave this island. Little did we know, he'd begin to build his criminal empire from here." Father disclosed.

"He may have divided our ancestors, but he's not gonna divide us." Lloyd insisted. I nodded.

We were walking when Kai suddenly moved everyone but me out of the way. "Uh...ladies first." Kai suggested in a nervous tone. I looked at him confused. "Kai, why are you-" I was cut off when I felt a tap on my shoulder to see the girl from earlier.

"Excuse me." The girl said, and I moved out of the way for her. I turned back to Kai with a small glare. "Maybe warn me next time you want everyone to move out of the way so I don't hold up your precious girlfriend."

Kai gave me a small glare back. "Well I didn't grab you because you're a lady too." Kai tried to defend himself. "Kai, don't try defending yourself. We all know you'd never treat me like a lady." I crossed my arms in front of me.

"Oh, snap! She got you good, Kai!" Cole laughed, giving me a high five, followed by Jay. Kai rolled his eyes as we continued.

"This is a big island. Zane could be anywhere. Keep an eye out." Cole suggested.

"So this is the house that noodles built." Jay laughed. "Always wanted to go to a red carpet event."

"Maybe I should bring you to one of Zelda's events. Then you can go on a red carpet for a good thing, and not Mr. Noodles and his creepy sidekick." I recommended to Jay, and he squealed.

"Chen lives like a king. Here, he's totally self-sufficient. The only way on or off this island is with his permission, which you have to earn." Dad warned us. "You never told me about this place. How do you know so much about this island?" Lloyd asked.

"Because before Chen was my enemy, he was my Sensei." Dad answered before showing us a tattoo.

We entered the palace, sitting in a circle in the throne room. I sat in between Dad and Lloyd, since I was most comfortable around them, and they would be able to keep me from getting nervous if people stared. Especially Lloyd.
