here it was. february 14th, the day they called valentines day. currently, it was the afternoon and hisano was having trouble on deciding what she should wear to a valentines night out. the valentines night out, also known as a single's night out.

the questions she was preparing herself to be asked. for example, "don't you have a boyfriend?" or, "you're single now?"

she knew going to hangout with friends on valentines day, and not jungwon, would cause them to think low of him. it wasn't like she wanted that. in fact, she didn't want anyone to speak ill of him at all.

it was just that she already tried her best, and nothing could be done.

she felt like there was nothing else she could do and that it was now up to him while she'd be there waiting.

growing up with him like this was not in fact what she had expected. her highschool-self thought unrealistically. that's just how she was.

being pure, and unfamiliar with what the world's really like can be so damaging. ever since she thought jungwon passed away, she stopped looking at life as sparkles and flowers.

but even so, with what her and jungwon have, it was too strong to let go of. she wanted to give it her everything to keep whatever they have stable and steady. but it wasn't going to work like that if both parties didn't put in the same effort.

she hated acceptance.

acceptance was one bittersweet word.

"ah, this is the one." she held the outfit up to see what it'd look like on her. once satisfied, she forced a smile on her face.

it was an outfit jungwon had gifted her.

just as she was going to set it down on her bed, the alarm on her phone went off, causing her to panic.

"oh no, i'm gonna be late."

she threw on her clothes before touching up her makeup. it was half past 8 and she had to be there by 9pm.

as if god sent an angel to her, she managed to safely arrive at the place just on time.

looking at the group of friends, she noticed how even the number of girls were with the boys. it oddly felt like it was some sort of mixer.

"hi." she waved at the group, eyes met first with aeri's before she looked at the other familiar faces. they all were mostly from the same department as her.

she especially recognized one face, which belonged to a younger guy named dawoo. dawoo had spoken to her a few times since they were in a group project once. he was a year younger than hisano. he was also a big sweetheart, giving off golden retriever vibes everywhere he went.

dawoo waved at the girl, in which she smiled in return.

as they went in to the restaurant, they were sitting with all the girls on one side and all the boys on the opposing side.

hisano was getting a weird feeling about this. she leaned towards aeri, whispering a "what's going on?" in her ear.

aeri just smirked, "what? you over jungwon now? luckily we got another guy so you don't feel out of place."
