Naptime at the Daycare.

Moon peered from the balcony, watching Sun skip to each kid to the sound of his name getting called. He never understood how his brother could handle this almost everyday. One of the kids was walking around proudly, showing off the Monty shades he just got from one of the stores nearby. Most stared at them in awe, following him everywhere he went. The rest just took arts and crafts time to their advantage, drawing many things and making paper planes with the help of glitter glue to keep them together. From the wonderous view Moon had, he could tell that most of the projects were for Sun. However, he could see that a couple of them were for him. Even though he was very far from the ground, he could tell by the color scheme. He looked back at the kid with the Monty shades and couldn't help but let out a chuckle. The way he gained almost all of the attention made him think that he's been learning from the gator himself.

As naptime drew near, he found himself getting nervous. He still wasn't used to this much love from the children. Even if his only job was to get them to sleep, it was still somewhat stressful. Before he get to deep in his thoughts, a girl looked up to where Moon was hiding. He tried to run back into his room, but it was too late. The bells on his clothes didn't help much either.

"Guys! I saw Moon!" The girls yelled, pointing up to where she saw him.

The daycare went silent for a second before the sound of them crowding around the ball pit beneath the balcony was heard.

"Now, lets not do this Sunbeams," Sun told the children, "Moon doesn't really like the light!"

"Why?" They all asked in unison.

It took a couple seconds for the bright star to reply with, "Well... Its complicated really... A lot of Moons don't enjoy the light!"

This was obviously a lie, but it was needed to keep the illusion somewhat alive. When the lights were on, Sun needed to be the one out. When the lights were off, Moon needed to be. It was one of the many rules that came with the daycare.

"There's more than one!?" A boy asked in disbelief.

"Yeah," another boy replied, "Almost all planets have at least one. Maybe even more."

Moon slowly walked up to the balcony again, looking down to see all of them were staring back. He pretended to be scared taking a step back. A few were distracted from their new knowledge on the solar system, but most were still staring at him.

"Poor Moony..." A couple girls said aloud.

"Its alright," Sun pretended to assure his brother, "The lights will be off in a few minutes! You can come down!"

Moon shook his head. He didn't want to break the rule. It would make the children want him to do it more.

 "PLEASE???" All of them pleaded.

Moon only stared before slowly taking a couple steps forward. He couldn't resist the sad puppy eyes they were making. Half of them began to jump with excitement as he let himself fall into the ball pit. He wasn't a fan of doing this, but he didn't want to bring the cable out yet. Everyone, including Sun, cheered as he landed in the ocean of plastic. The bright star managed to keep the children from jumping in as Moon swam out. As soon as all of his body was out, kids swarmed all around him. They all hugged them to the best of their abilities.

 "Never again." He muttered.

The children only giggled to the statement as he got lost in the middle of the large crowd. After a couple minutes of greeting them all he managed to stand up only to get hugged by Sun.

At this point he could easily fit in with all of these toddlers.... Moon thought to himself.

"I'm proud of you Moon!" Sun told him excitedly.

 "Thanks Sun."

The crowd surrounding the two daycare attendants began handing them gifts. They both seemed to get an equal amount of things that time, but at this point it didn't really matter. They realized there was no need for comparison because they both in a way were loved equally. After a couple more minutes of talking to the children, the lights went off. Sun took the time to say goodbye to them before running off at an incredible speed, making all of them, including Moon, laugh at the sight.

Moon didn't realize this until now, but the scene that just took place made most of the children tired. It made his job a lot easier than it usually was. They all went to the napping area without any hesitation. The only thing he had to do was read to them to make them go into deep slumber. They voted on the story "Goodnight Moon." He found it weird, but didn't want to acknowledge it too much. He only managed to read the first half of the story before their soft snores began to fill the daycare, and he was honestly relieved. He almost felt uncomfortable reading about his real life counterpart. He slowly closed the book before gingerly sneaking past all of the sleeping children.

"Sun?" Moon called out in a whisper.

Sun appeared on the balcony, "Yes brother?"

"Can you lower the cable for me?"

The bright star nodded as he did so, and Moon made sure to thank him as soon as he  got up onto the balcony. From there, they watched over the sleeping kids together. He still found himself staring at the one kid who had the Monty shades. They were now beside him on the floor, and his hand placed on them as a form of protection. It made Moon wonder what Monty was up to now. A light red hue slowly crept its way onto his face at the thought of what took place between them last time, making him look away.

"Are you alright Moon?" Sun asked with concern, "You're looking kind of red... are you overheating?" Sun placed a hand over his brothers head, "You are!"

Mon placed a hand over his smile in hopes that the children didn't hear, "I'm fine Sunny, now be quiet so they can sleep!" He shouted in a whisper as he gestured towards the sleeping children below.

"You don't look fine..." Sun argued.

Moon swore that he saw a spark of red in his brothers eyes for a split second, but he didn't want to say anything about it. His eyes were red while he stood guard near the children at that moment, so he thought it was just his reflection trying to show in Suns blue eyes.

"I'm really fine, you don't have to worry about me. I'm just... a little stressed is all."

Suns rays retracted slightly as he tilted his head with confusion. They both have spent so much time together that they were gaining each others habits. "You sure?"

Moon nodded, and the daycare went silent once more as Sun turned back to his usual cheery self. Despite returning to his usual demeanor, the way his smile was slightly faltered was a sign that he didn't believe a word that Moon said.

Moon mentally sighed as he found himself staring at the copy of Monty's shades for the second time in a row.

 How do I tell Sun?
