Song: White Dress by Lana Del Rey
For character depth and development this is one of the special chapters in this book which will be written in the point of view other than Adonis King. This is a special chapter which diverts from the story's plot and delves more into the characters and their back story. It is written in Lee Min-ho's point of view but explores both Lee and Reyna Diaz. I hope you enjoy it.
I feel like a complete fool. I mean I know I'm supposed to be the nerdish, computer geek but how did it not occur to me that I should pick her up? Well, if you think of it she never asked me to pick her up and Reyna's more of an independent feminist woman, I didn't want her to assume that I was trying to prevent her from blowing.
But whatever, I still feel like a fool because now I'm searching the damned crowd looking for her. She'd texted earlier saying that she was here so where-
"Min-ho!" A hand latches on to my arm like we're about to slide down a mountain and I'm the only thing around to stop it. I look down and find Reyna bent over, gasping for air.
"Reyna? Were you running?"
"Are you deaf?"
"Wh-what?"
"I'd been calling you since like forever and you just kept walking and walking," she stands aright, her entire hair a living mess.
"So you ran," I surmise.
"Yes, I ran." She gives me a dead pan look.
"Should I get you a brush? I feel like you did not get out of the house looking like this," I gesture at her wild hair and muddy sneakers.
"Of course not, it wasn't exactly an easy journey getting here."
Ouch. "I'm sorry, I should have come to get you."
"It's fine, I wasn't at home anyways. Has the game started?" She asks as I lead her towards the bleachers.
"Yeah, it just did-isn't that your phone ringing?" We both pause and she grabs her phone from her back pocket.
"Wassup P?" A frown is already on her face. "Yeah? It's in his bag...two pills...what? What do you mean you mixed the pills? Hospital. Get them to the nearest hospital I'll be there soon." She hangs up and shoves the phone back into her pocket.
"What happened?"
"It's my brothers. I'm sorry Min-hon but I've gotta bail-"
"No it's fine. Let me take you."
"I can go with a taxi, it's pretty far away," she shakes her head and starts to turn around but I grab her wrist without much thought.
"I'll take you Reyna. The others will enjoy the game. Come on." It's probably the fear she's feeling but for the first time since I met Reyna, she doesn't argue with me. She lets me lead the way to my car and doesn't even complain when I tell her to wear her seatbelts.
"Which hospital?" I ask as I switch the car to reverse.
"Oceanview, the one downtown."
That is far.
"What happened to them?"
"Penelope couldn't really tell me much but she basically gave them the wrong pills. River and Rodrigo are both anemic but River has a more complicated gene, putting it nicely so they don't take the same pills. She gave them the wrong pills and they started acting up so I told her to take them to the hospital."
"That's messed up...gosh, the road is blocked Reyna," I let out a loud sigh, glaring at the swarm of cars ahead of us.
"I've got to get there now. Penelope has no idea about their medical history, what if something serious is happening?"
