Draco POV

Harry is already in his office by the time I get into work. There's no meeting today, that's what Roberts told me, but I need to speak to the Boss anyway. I have a sneaking suspicion as to how Dolohov has figured out how to identify his victims. That's not the only reason why, though. Harry's called me to meet with him first thing in the morning and, from the sound of his voice on the communicator last night.

"Hey Boss," I peek my head through his office door and wait for him to motion me to come in and take a seat opposite him.

"Draco, I talked to Caldwell on Saturday and I learnt some stuff about Dolohov. There's a very specific type of girl that he's targeting. Tell me, do you remember the name of our first victim and the girl you saved?" He asks me and I get a sinking feeling in my chest for some unknown reason.

"Hannah Gordon and Hailie Grace," I answer almost robotically while trying to decipher what it is he's trying to lead me to. It's annoying that he won't outright give me the answer but it's part of an exercise, or so he claims, to get us to critically think instead of having the answers given to us.

"They both had brown hair and brown eyes, right?" He asks me again and I resist the urge to roll my eyes.

"Yes."

He looks at me in a somewhat disappointed manner and I snort at him in derision. Really, I don't know what he's trying to do to me. The girls are similar alright but this was known to both of us. Hell, even their names were similar. Their initials were H.G and they were muggleborn and...

"Granger," I say once realization hits me. The girls are near perfect ringers for Granger down to the two initials. But wait...

"How could he have targeted them based on this? I mean, it's one thing to target their looks because he could have easily spotted them in the alley. But their names...their names are something else entirely," I intimate to Boss. He nods knowingly but says nothing, waiting for me to draw my conclusion.

I try to piece together the facts and it hits me. The only way Dolohov could have gotten such intricate knowledge of his victims was through the only document that could provide it: The student list of Hogwarts.

"He got the List," I breathe out.

"Exactly," Boss answers and somehow, I know I don't like what's going to come out of his mouth next. "There's two ways he could have gotten that list, Draco."

The only two ways I could think of is either an inside man/woman in our team or through Hogwarts itself. I rule out the first one just based on the fact that I trust my team completely and I know there's no one who would do such a thing, especially when it can result in a little girl dying. That leaves me with the remaining option, and I look to Harry for guidance.

He is watching me with a grave look on his face but refuses to say anything. He doesn't honestly believe my father would turn the list over to Dolohov, right? It's true that my father was once a Death Eater and now sits on the Board of Governors but he's defected. I may not have had the best relationship with my father but I know I can trust him. He is my father after all and he's made several overtures to prove his allegiance to the new Wizarding World.

"My father didn't give Dolohov that list," I bitingly tell Boss. I can feel my anger rising at the unspoken insinuation but I keep it bottled up.

"We don't know that."

The nerve of him! I understand this case is personal to him especially since it involves Granger but this is too bloody far. He has no right to speak on matters he knows nothing about. My father is a changed man.
