⁑ ⁑--------------------
After spending the night in a cheap motel located in a relatively small city, you and Kurapika felt prepared to begin the difficult journey fate held for the two of them. You have not spoken much, except for the occasional exchange of words relating to their near future. You stayed in their room while the blond went out to an Internet café in search of information on potential sponsors.
You knew that your companion would have to begin learning Nen soon enough, it was essential to becoming a true Hunter. You were, however, unsure of when and where he would meet his teacher.
Becoming restless, you decided to go out and find Kurapika at the café. Thankfully he told you where it was before he left, so you knew exactly where he would be. You got dressed and pocketed her newly awarded license, but not before examining it once again.
The walk to the café was short, and as soon as you entered you were met with a crowded space. Lingering scents of cinnamon and baked bread filled your nostrils, although there were occasional unpleasant scents that wafted throughout the shop.
"Ah, [Y/N], you've decided to join me?" Your head whips around to be met with the gaze of the blond's grey contact lenses. He seemed pleased to see you, though he looked more invested in whatever he was studying on the computer.
"Yes, I got tired of staying at the motel and wanted to check up on you. Have you found anything?" You inquired, leaning over Kurapika's shoulder to examine the screen. He replied telling you about the potential lead he's found, although he is unsure of whether or not it was reliable. A silence between the two of you presented itself as he continued tapping away at the keyboard and scrolling through the results.
Looking around the café, you realized asking the right people may prove to be more useful than simply researching online on the Hunter website and other shady links. You informed your partner of the idea, and he agreed to stay behind and continue his search whilst you asked around.

After leaving the café and finding more reserved, intimidating areas in the city, you began your search. Walking around, you found an intriguing pub at the end of the street. As you approached, an uneasy feeling crept through your body, the source of it unknown. The street itself looked almost abandoned, though you could tell there was a large group of people nearby. Following the sound of voices, you made your way toward the pub, not hesitating to go inside.
"ID?" Your eyes met those of an older man propped on a stool at the entrance. He was smoking a cigar and had a slightly dishevelled appearance, notably his greying, unkempt, shoulder-length hair.
Putting on an act, you pat yourself down, sliding your hands into each of your pockets. "I must've forgotten to bring it with me, but surely I look of age?" You said, raising and furrowing your eyebrows ever so slightly. The man merely scoffed and occupied himself by examining the dirt underneath his fingernails. "Tough luck, kid."
