Kurapika did not waste a second before thanking the man who taught him his newly acquired skills and setting off. You, on the other hand, felt as though you owed the man something for all the help and knowledge he has transferred over to you.

Settling on shaking the man's hand before departing, you trudged over to him and clasped his right hand with both of yours, shaking it as you thanked him with a slight bow of your head. He took a moment to roll his eyes before you felt his hand on your upper back, pulling you in closer for a hug.

Although you had not been especially close with him, you had seen him every day, and he even prepared all of your meals. The embrace lasted a few heartbeats before you pulled away, thanking the man one last time before taking your leave. As you turned, you realized your companion had progressed quite far without you, and in response you hastily quickened your pace. A minute later, his figure eventually came into view.

Falling into step with him, the two of you walked in silence, only the sounds of wildlife accompanied by your footsteps entered your ears. The sky was grey, clouds hanging quite low, and the forest seemed more somber than ever - chilling enough to cause you to heighten your senses. Minutes flew by, and a sense of boredom filled your body.

"So," You began, finally breaking the silence, earning not even the slightest acknowledgement from the boy to your right. "Will you reveal your plan to me?"

A few seconds passed before the boy replied, not sparing you a single look. "I'm going back to the Sengi Guild to get a job." His tone did not sound annoyed, but a curt twitch of his eyebrow suggested otherwise.

You turned your head to face the path straight ahead of you, not allowing the boy to sour your mood. "You do know that I'm travelling with you, right?"

"Yes, why?" Finally turning to glance at you, he replied with a bewildered tone.

"It's just that you said you were going to get a job, not us." Your voice remained indifferent, though an inkling of uncertainty began spreading throughout you as the idea of him wishing he had left you behind entered your mind.

Kurapika did not reply for several seconds, and you thought the rest of the walk would remain silent until you heard him clear his throat. "I just don't understand why you want to join me, what do you have to gain from travelling with me?"

Considering his question, you also remained quiet for a moment before putting a few words together to form a response. "We have similar goals, that's all there is to it."

Your voice seemed to ooze unsureness as Kurapika raised an eyebrow at you before shrugging it off, not wanting to pry. In truth, you were not sure if you wanted to see the Spider's demise. In your mind, the main thing you wanted was an answer - why did they do it? You had never seen your brother speak to Chrollo or the others before.

Was what they did really necessary?

The rest of the journey was made in silence.

The two of you made your way through the darker, more intimidating streets in the city you had entered, shortly spotting the familiar, run-down pub. You both flashed your Licenses at the man guarding the door, and he quickly backed away from the two of you and freed a path for you. You and Kurapika retraced your steps from the last time you were here, entering the same out-of-place door.
