"If someone hands you a crying baby, do you, A, curse it? B, lock it in a tower? C, give it a bottle? Or D, carve out its heart? Evie." It was not time for classes. The first class of the day was goodness class, taught by Fairy Godmother.
"What was the second one?" Evie asked after raising her hand. Fairy Godmother sighed before trying to move onto another person to answer her question.
"Oh, okay. Is there anyone else? Athena?" Fairy Godmother asked, hoping her streak would not wear off.
"C, give it a bottle." Athena said while looking down at her notebook, she was writing a song.
Singing happened to be a passion of hers. She loved to do it.
"Correct. Again." Fairy Godmother said proudly as she turned back o the board.
"You are on fire, girl!" Carlos said as he smiled at her, of which Athena returned. Carlos was like a little brother to her, just like her sister Uma.
"Just pick the one that doesn't sound like any fun." Mal said as she drew in her own notebook. Athena whispered "nice" into her ear, which made Mal smile at her.
"Oh." The others said in a realization tone.
"That makes so much sense." Evie said.
Just yhen the doors to their classroom opened to reveal a girl in a bob and blue clothes. "Hello, dear one." Fairy Godmother said to the girl in a kind voice as the girl looked scared to be in the class with them.
"Hi. You need to sign off on early dismissal for the coronation." The girl said, rushing to Fairy Godmother with a clipboard.
"Everyone here remembers my daughter, Jane?" Fairy Godmother said to them as she pushed Jane forward. Jane protested, obviously scared of the VKs.
"It's okay. Jane, this is everyone." Her mom said while trying to get her to say hi.
"Hi. That's okay, don't mind me. As you were." Jane said as she rushed past them with a squeak.
Athena was uninterested in her until Mal nudged her and gave her a look. Athena knew that look. It meant Mal had a plan, and she was going to be forced to participate.
"Ahem. Let's continue. You find a vial of poison. Do you, A, put it in the king's wine? B, paint it on an apple? Or C, turn it over to the proper authorities?" Fairy Godmother said after Jane left.
Jay and Carlos both went to answer the question with Jay pulling Carlos's hand.
Fairy Godmother called on Jay, only seeing his hand.
"C. You turn it over to the proper authorities." Jay answered proudly.
"I was gonna say that." Carlos whined after Jay answered.
"But I said it first. Come here!" Jay said proudly before wrapping his arms around Carlos in a headlock.
"Come on, who said it first? Who said it first?" Jay teased as he held Carlos tight, causing carlos to yelp in pain. Athena glanced at them with an amused smile on her face.
"Boys. Boys! I am gonna encourage you to use that energy in the tourney field." Fairy Godmother suggested, causing them to stop fighting.
"Oh, no. That's okay. Whatever that is, We'll... We'll pass." Carlos said he was never really a sports person.
"Those kids are trouble." Chad said as he stared at Mal, Evie, and Athena standing at their lockers.
"Bye, Mal, Athena." Evie said as she walked away to her next class.
