Athena was by no means an early riser. So when Mal and Evie woke up that morning to find ger up and move, they knew it was because she had not slept.

She couldn't sleep. Every time she closed her eyes, images flashed before her.

Images of Ben.

Images of Ella and the story that gave her such a fright.

Even images of her 'mom' on the Isle, waiting for her to return with good news.

Yeah, she pieced it together. There were too many coincidences in that story, in her time here not to.

Athena is a lot of thing, stupid, isn't one of them.

But she had better things to worry about than a new mother or an old one.

She moved around the room, readying herself for Ben's coronation and what her future may bring.

Evie and Mal exchanged concern looks, both at her frenzy and the challenges of the day.

"Hey." Mal called, stopping Athena in her tracks. "Calm down. We're going to be fine."

"I am calm." Athena responded, her voice for once not betraying her. She glanced up at the beautiful dress Evie and her worked on hanging by her bed, picking it up and storming to the bathroom as she ignored the looks being thrown at her.

Forgetting to grab the shell necklace, you almost never saw her without.

She sat in a carriage, next to Ben in a beautiful gown and thousands of fans cheering for them.

This was supposed to be a good day for Auradon. A day of promise for a brighter future for them and their new king.

Yet all Athena could think about was the bad.

The sun was too bright and hurt her eyes.

Her dress was too tight.

The cheers were too loud.

There was a chance that everyone here would never smile like this again if she were to succeed.

"Don't be nervous." She heard from next to her, bringing her attention to Ben. Who was dressed in blue and gold and looked far too good and far too kind for her say anything.

"All you have to do is sit there and look beautiful. No problem there." He said, clearly trying to wipe the frown from her face.

"Thank you." She said sheepishly with a smile, tho his words did nothing to calm her nerves as she went back to twiddling with the small blue box in her hand.

He looked down at his hand for a second, taking a deep breath. "Athena, would you wear my ring?"

The question caught her off guard but definitely distracted her from her thoughts.

"Yeah. Yeah, I'd love to, Benny." Holding her hand out as he slipped it on. She gazed at it in admiration.

"Um, I actually have something for you too." She said, holding up that little blue box.

Ben looked down at it, taking it with suprise and appreciation on his face.

"It's just for later, you know. A little sweet treat after a big day." She said, gulping slightly as she saw him trying to eat it so fast.

"Always thinking." He said with a laugh, her own coming awkwardly and quiet. "But I can't wait." Not even waiting a second before pushing it into his mouth.

"No!" She said, but it was too late. All she could do was stare as he ate.

"This is really good."

"Thanks. Um. Do you feel okay?" She asked, looking at him for any sign of a breakthrough.
