"All right. It says that we still need one tear, and I never cry." Mal said as they all stood in the kitchen, preparing the love spell.

"I'm still stuck on the part that I'm the one who has to do this." Athena said as she complained about being the victim for the spell.

"You and Ben talk to each other the most. It will be less suspicious when he falls in love with you." Mal said as she sent Athena a smirk.

"Let's just chop up some onions." Carlos said, going back to what they were originally talking about.

"No. It says that we need one tear of human sadness. And this love potion gets the best so we have to follow it exactly." Mal said as she stirred the spell.

"A tear's a tear." Jay said with a shrug, sounding sure of himself.

"That's not true, Jay. They both have antibodies and enzymes, but an emotional tear has more protein-based hormones than a reflex tear." Evie explained.

"Listen to you go." Athena said proudly, making Evie blush at the compliment.

"Yeah, I knew that." Jay said, embarrassed.

"No, you didn't." Athena said as she turned towards him from her spot next to Mal to tease him.

"Yeah, I did." Jay said defensively.

Just then, the door to the kitchen opened to reveal Lonnie. "There you are, Mal! I was looking for you. You know, all the girls want you to do their hair! Midnight snack, huh? What are you guys making?" She said as she walked over to them.

"Nothing special. Just cookies." Mal said as she covered her spell book. Lonnie reached her finger in to taste the mixture as everyone else protected.

"What? I'm not gonna double dip." Lonnie said with an innocent look.

"Do you feel anything?" Athena said suspiciously.

"Yeah, like maybe it might be missing something?" Mal said, trying to play it off.

Jay walked up to Lonnie and flirted with her to see if it worked, making Lonnie give him a weirded out look and Mal to pull him back.

"It could use some chips." Lonnie said as she walked to the fridge.

"And those are..." Mal said as she sighed in relief.

"Chocolate chips. It's just the most important food group. Wait, didn't your mom ever make you guys, like, chocolate chip cookies? Like, when you're feeling sad, and they're fresh from the oven, with a big old glass of milk, and she just makes you laugh and puts everything into perspective and... why are you all looking at me like that?" Lonnie said as she stopped at the looks everyone was giving her.

"It's just different where we're from." Mal muttered.

"Yeah, I know. I just, you know, I thought... Even villains love their kids." She said, looking around as they remained silent before pity showed on her face

"Oh... How awful." Lonnie said as a tear went down her face.

Mal saw the tear lonnie had, grabbed it, and put it in the mixed spell. "Yeah, well, big bummer, but we have to get these into the oven, so thank you so much for coming by. Really, really have a good night. I'll see you tomorrow. Evil dreams." She said as she rushed Lonnie away.

"Okay, boys, cookie sheet. Evie, oven." Athena said as soon as Lonnie left.

It was now time to do their plan. Mal and Athena were standing at their lockers when Jay walked up to them.

"Are you feeling kind of weird about this? I mean, It's not so bad here, you know." Jay said as Athena nodded along with him. She's been having bad feelings about this plan since they came.
