Athena couldn't go back to the rooms. Sitting in awkward silence as they all came to the realization that this place, this fairy tale, was coming to an end from their own doing.

She separated from the group, refusing anyone's offer to go with her, wherever it was she was going.

She actually didn't know. She looked up at her surroundings after keeping her head down for so long just to see nothing but green grass and a forest behind her.

As she looked in front of her further into the distance, she could make out a bench perched under a tree.

She looks both ways to still see nothing. Not a single soul, allowing her to wander to that bench and take a seat.

Wind blew in her ears, the only sound she could hear. Everything else is silent.

She liked it.

She thought, maybe when the villains come and take over, this could be the one place they dont mess with. The one place they won't take.

She was so wrapped up in her thoughts that she didn't notice the person next to her until they placed a gentle hand on her shoulder.

She flinched violently at the interruption, placing a hand on her heart to calm it as she looked up to be met with the face of Chads mom, the lady whose facial features resemble her own to much for her liking.

"Im sorry, dear. You just seemed so lost and sad. i thought I'd check on you." She said. Ella, Athena recalled her name being. Cinderella.

Athena huffed out a breath. "Yeah, im fine. Thank you, tho." Thinking that would be the end of the conversation.

However, it was not as Ella took a seat next to Athena, taking in the breeze.

The air wasn't as thick with tension as Athena thought it would be. Hoewever, it was clear that Ella had something she wanted to say.

"Im sorry for what happened to Chad, even tho he deserved it." Athena claimed, grimancing at her sly end comment.

Ella, however, didn't find it embarrassing. In fact, let out a laugh so contagious, Athena joined in.

"It's no problem. Im sorry for what he said to you and your friends. Even though it should be him telling you so." She said earnestly.

"Thank you nonetheless." Athena replied, giving her a genuine smile, the smile she received back looking oh so similar to hers.

Ella took a second to observe her, taking in the details of Athena's face.

"He's a rather troubled child. I guess that's what comes with being the middle child." Athena looked up at this cause from what she knew, Chad was the oldest.

"I didn't know Chad had an older sibling." Tilting her head, silently asking for an explanation.

"A sister, older by only a year. He didn't get to know her." Ella looked sullen, a bittersweet smile on her face.

There was something to this story Athena needed to know. Something she was meant to know. She could feel it.

"If you dont mind me asking, what happened?" She asked, trying to hide how much she was itching to know.

"It's fine." Ella sighed out. "When me and my prince embraced our first baby girl, it was one of the happiest days of our lives."

"But all dreams come to an end cause after four months, the very night before all the Villians were being shupped to the Isle, she was taken." A tear fell down Ella's face, causing her to wipe it quickly with a sniffle.

"So one of the villains took your baby?"

"Im not sure. I wouldn't want to point fingers, especially at people who already have enough fingers pointed at them." Ella said with a shrug. A woman who is so kind yet she has faced so many tragedies, and even then, she remains unbitter and graceful.

Athena wished she had that strength. After one comment was made about her, she was ready to plot the downfall of Auradon.

"I begged Beast not to make them go yet. To let me check if maybe, just maybe, one of the villains had her but to no avail. He sent them away, and i... i lost her forever." Another tear had fallen, this time not from Ella but from Athena.

Ella saw her tear and reached her hand up, gently wiping it away. "Dont cry, dear. It's okay."

Athena sniffled, wiping away her fallen tears. "Im sure, if she was here, she would be so proud to call you her mom." She said earnestly, grabbing Ella's hand and giving it a squeeze.

Ella gave her an unfamiliar look. Tender with something else she couldn't grasp. "Thank you. I will never forget the day she was first in my arms. May 27th. What a joyful day it was."

Athena froze, Ella looking at her from the corner of her eye.

Athena's breath caught short, staring at dumbfounded before confusion and frustration set in.

"Is this some kind of joke?" She said as she stood up abruptly.

"No, sweetie. Why would you think such a thing?" Ella stood as well, reaching her hands out to comfort Athena, who was obviously spiraling.

Athena backed away from her arms and stepped back, breathing heavily. "I need to go. Goodbye." She rushed out before practically speeding away, Ella staring at the back of her head with a look of endearment and determination.
