Her journey to the kitchen was short and bitter. The only things on her mind were Ben and how she was going to create something better than the cookies she gave him the first time.

She got straight to work, knowing if she stopped for even a second, she would change her mind.

She tried to distract herself with her task from the thoughts of Ben.

What would he say once the spell was broken.

Would he be mad. Would he regret everything. Probably.

Sadness took over at the concept, allowing her the very last ingredient for her treat. A tear.

The sound of singing was heard from afar as the VK's went to celebrate Family Day with the royals.

Seeing all the families gathered made Athena bitter, swallowing bile at a family actually getting along.

It also made her miss home. Her sister was never far from her mind when she was her, seeing things that always reminded her of her.

They walked over to a food station as the song came to an end. Athena's eyes caught sight of something brown and snagged it off the table, her mouth omce again tasting the sweet flavor of chocolate.

Her eyes wandered, catching Ben waving her over to where he and his parents stood.

Her eyes widened before straightening herself out and wacking away Evie's brush, and she strolled over to him.

The second she reached them, she gave Ben a kiss on the cheek, wiped away the remaining lipgloss it left abd turned to face his parents with what she hoped was a smile not showing how scared she was.

"This is Athena. From the island. My girlfriend." Ben said, not seeming to sense the slight tention as she got introduced.

Athena could practically hear her heart in her ears.

Tho Ben's parents' faces seemed surprised, they didn't appear angry, which relaxed Athena instantly.

Seeming to have been in some sort of trance, Belle snapped out of it and greeted Athena. "Hi." She said, her voice cheery as she pulled Athena into a quick hug, which was returned.

"Hi." Athena replied, and if her breath sounded shallow, it was just from the nerves leaving her body.

Ben pulled Athena back into his arms, happy with how well the conversation was going, and decided to test his luck.

"I was thinking maybe she can join us for lunch." He said, looking around in hopes of seeing everyone agree.

Beast remained awkwardly silent for a second til he spoke. "O-of course. Any friend of Ben's..."

Athena jumped slightly, as if just remembering herself. "I actually came with my friends."

"Well, you should invite them. Because the more the merrier!" Belle extended invite to her friends made Athena feel more at ease that she wouldn't have to suffer alone during the lunch.

"Yeah, I'll go grab them." She said, quick to turn around before a voice was heard.

"Uh, how about a game of croquet before lunch?" Beast suggested, tho no one dared to disagree.

"Sure!" Athena said as enthusiastically as she could.

The coversation ended as Ben and Athena walked away to tell her friends.

"Have you played before?" He questioned in hushed tone into her ear.

She didn't even have to think for a second before shaking her head no.
