The next day, Athena was practically glowing. Even in class with Fairy Godmother's boring lessons, she sat in her seat, humming a familiar tune as a small smile graced her face.

That peace was interrupted as Fairy Godmother spoke up to all of them.

"Children, excuse me." She said as she called the only six people in her classes attention.

"Um, as you know, uh, this Sunday is family day here at Auradon Prep. And because your parents can't be here due to, uh, distance, we've arranged for a special treat." She said, grimacing at the last part of her speech before turning on a TV that stood in the front of the room.

On the screen, you could see the VK's parents, all except Athena's, crowding around a device they were using, clearly struggling.

"I don't see anything, nor do I hear." Coupd be heard from Maleficent as she peered down at the device.

"Kids!" Fairy Godmother exclaimed as she encouraged them to come closer to the screen.

The Villians struggled for another minute before finally they could see their kids on the other side.

"Oh!" They exclaimed at the sight.

Athena looked around to see if there was even a possibility that her mother had crawled out of her cave to actually see her but to no avail.

She was so caught up in her thoughts that she didn't even notice everyone conversation until Mal stepped forward and dragged her along to face Maleficent.

"Hi, mom." She said stiffly, her hand holding onto Athena's arm for support.

"Mal! I m-m-miss you." Maleficent coughed out, poorly putting on the the worried mother act.

"You children are never far from our thoughts." Jafar said, tho he seemed to have meant it a lot more than Maleficent did.

"How long must mommy wait to see you?" She asked, getting closer to the camera.

"Um, there's a big coronation coming up. I think probably sometimes after... that." Mal stuttered out. Athena rubbed her hand in as a means to comfort her.

"When?" Maleficent pushed.

"Friday, 10 A.M." Athena spoke up for the first time since the conversation started.

"You sure I can't see you before that? I don't know what I'll do if I don't get my hands on that magic wan... you... you little nugget that I love so much."

Wow, how very believable. You should be an actress.

"Yes, I completely understand, Mother." Mal said, showing that she knew how ungenuine her mother was.

Before any other words could be shared, Cruella pushed her way to the front of the camera.

"Carlos, is that a dog? Oh, yes, yes, baby, I do understand. It would make the perfect size for earmuffs." Her delusional self once again talking to that stuffed dog.

"He's the perfect size for a pet." Carlos, surprisingly, spoke up, causing Cruella to exclaim in surprise.

"This dog loves me, and I love him. And for your information, your dog is stuffed! So give it a rest!" He said.

Athena and some of the other VKs covered their mouths as little giggles escaped them.

As if it couldn't get any worse, an argument broke out, making Fairy Godmother turn off the video chat with an apologetic expression.

"I'm so sorry." She expressed in a true compassion.

Athena could only imagine what she was thinking.

A group of kids, one of which parent cant even show up while the other are too busy arguing to pay their kids any attention.

"Thank you for the special treat, Fairy Godmother." Athena expressed in geniune gratitude.

"Of course." She responded as humble as ever.

The VK's walked away in silence as they tried to move on from the embarrassing moment.

"A?" Evie questioned in a concerned tone.

"What do you think our parents are gonna do to us if we don't pull this off?" The question hung in the air for a moment as Athena contemplated her next words.

"Bless our soul if we ever have to face them empty-handed." She said, giving everyone a lot to think about.
