It's another afternoon that Jimin and Kook spend at the rooftop. The younger is staring at the gray clouds in the distance without saying a word, immersed in his thoughts. And Jimin is starting to get nervous about this situation.

- Okay, Kook. Aren't you gonna tell me what's going on?

- Hmm? I don't know what you mean. Nothing's happening

- Exactly! Nothing! We spent the last 5 days without even mentioning Tae! Did he stop appearing? Is that what happened?

- We don't always have to talk about that. We can be friends without looking for ghosts! Right?

- Okay, now honestly. What happened? Did you see anything bad? It seems serious if you don't even mention it

- Nothing happened, Jimin. I still see him sometimes. For a few seconds or less. I also hear his voice or feel his presence. But...

- But?

- I just...I feel that if I talk to him...if I tell him what I feel... I'm scared he'll be gone forever. He'll leave...

- Oh, Kook... leaving is not a bad thing. It means finding peace.

Jungkook frowns. He can't trust those words. He doesn't want to.

- No. He wouldn't be at peace if he's away from me. I know him. He needs me just like I need him.

- And what about you? Are you gonna be okay living like this? With little fragments of what used to be? C'mon Kook, you're torturing yourself and him

- I don't care!

Jungkook gets up offended with the idea of him hurting Tae. He's doing this to keep him close. To hold on to those moments that represent his happiness. He walks back inside the building with Jimin close behind trying to convince him otherwise. But the youngest insists he has to stay quiet to keep Tae home. He runs down the stairs hoping the distance between him and his neighbor can grow.

It works. Jimin is each time more far away from him. Jungkook even walks past the hunted apartment above his. Inside, someone else is pretty much yelling.

- What else do I have to do for you to listen?!

He ignores whatever drama is going on in there. He enters his own apartment and locks the door. It takes a few minutes for Jimin to reach him. He knocks on his door but Jungkook ignores it. They argue with the door in the middle. He can't understand what's making Jimin so decided to keep talking about this.

- Kook, you can't do this!

- I'm not gonna let him go! He's gonna stay here forever and I'm gonna stay with him!

The knocking on his door stops. A few seconds of silence make Jungkook wonder if his friend has finally given up. Until he hears a dry sound that alerts him. He unlocks the door in a hurry and just as he thought Jimin is on the floor with his nose bleeding again. Worried, he tries to help him sit. The boy's not unconscious yet but he's not fully present either. He has his eyes open for now but clearly something's wrong.

- God Jimin, I'm so sorry. I forgot you were sick and I made you run downstairs I... I'm so sorry. I'm just too sensitive to having that conversation and-

- Kook...you need to...let him go...

- But...I don't want to. W-Why do you keep saying that?

- Because...I need you to...

Jungkook can't understand. Jimin's words are barely a whisper. He would love to ignore them but the poor boy in his arms can't even sit straight. He doesn't have the strength for it. Even if he doesn't agree with him, he still wants to help. He moves so Jimin can get on his back ready to be taken away.

- I'll take you to Yoongi. He'll know what to d-

- N-No, Jungkook...outside

- What?

- Take me outside

- To the rooftop again? I guess some air could be good for you

He only puts one foot on the first step of the stairs before Jimin forces his voice out again to stop him.

- No, Kook. Outside.

- You need to rest, Jimin

- Please...I need you to do that for me.

Kook can't understand why he sounds this confident in what he wants. He doesn't think that's the best option but he can't argue with a weak boy that's pretty much begging him for that favor. Confused, he obeys. They take the elevator and head to the lobby. As they walk out, Jungkook's eyes go wide. Tae is standing near the door, looking out. It's starting to rain on the other side. And when he sees Taehyung walk out of the building, Jungkook can't stop his own voice.

- TAE! WAIT!

He feels like dying for a second. Tae is already walking away from the place. He lets Jimin get down fast but carefully. He doesn't wanna hurt him but he needs to run. He's scared that the love of his life it's actually leaving forever for some reason.

- No no no, don't go!

Jimin sees Jungkook run away from him and up to the door. As he opens and walks out of the building, Jimin can smile softly. It took him some time but he did it.

- Finally....

Next Chapter

Jimin, what the hell is going on?!

I don't think my story is the important one here

--------------------------------------------------------------

Hi babes~ Today I was writing like an idiot and I missed the first half of Kookie's live 😑 But here's one of my favorite chapters~

The next one is my other favorite. And this is the last one that's canon! That means the plot twist will change depending on the first ending or the alternative one! So don't worry if you don't like one of them c:

See you soon for more ✨
