Namjoon looks out the window, curious and ready to gossip. He can see Tae and a guy with a heart shaped smile taking boxes to a truck. It's clear the boy is gonna leave the building. But unlike the last times he saw him, Tae looks a lot more relaxed. You could even say relieved.- Ah, finally someone heard what the bunny boy upstairs had to say
For most common people, Namjoon is talking to himself. But the man knows there's someone else there. Even though most of the time he can't see him clearly enough.
- Are you gonna take over his apartment as well? People will start saying you're hunting the whole building if you do
There's not a voice answering. Not exactly. Instead, the CD player turns on and a song gives him the answer. Most people thinking it sounds like noise while Namjoon can now understand it perfectly.
Everybody say noo~
- Hahahaha Hey! I was just asking! I wasn't saying it to kick you out, honey!
On the other dimension, Seokjin stops playing with the music for a second so he can look down and smile. Just thinking that Jungkook got to rest in peace feels refreshing.
- Thank God. I was tired of hearing that dumb spirit talking about a "ghost detecting machine". I will miss Jiminie though...
He plays a different song. There's only instruments sounding. No one sings. And he only stops when he hears his human complain.
- I don't wanna hear a song without your voice, Seokjin. I thought you wanted someone to hear you! C'mon, sing for me~
The volume of a new song goes up making Namjoon smile. He loves sharing his apartment with this ghost. Meanwhile, on one of the apartments downstairs Jimin covers his ears with a pillow.
- Goooood why is the guy up there so looooooud? It feels like he's in the room with me!
- Kim Namjoon? I can have a talk with him of you want, love
- Nah, it's okay Yoonie. It might be loud but there's something familiar about it.
- Mhm...How do you feel? You looked really disturbed last night when you talked to Taehyung
- I'm fine...I don't know what happened, actually. I was just convinced I had to tell him that
- Yeah well, next time be more careful. It took you an hour to recover and I was scared to death!
Jimin smiles softly. The caring tone of his future husband is so sweet he's happy to be alive.
- You know, sometimes I dream with the boy next door...but I never even knew him! Last night I was so sure I met him...
- He was a great kid. And he really seemed to love his roommate. I shipped them, not gonna lie
- Yeah...Oh! Maybe I'm a medium!
- Hahahaha Nah, I think it was your pretty soul. It's been here for a while
- Yoonie, I know I almost died but I'm pretty sure my soul stayed with me
Yoongi pulls him closer on the bed while telling him a little story. His experience when he moved into the apartment. He was depressed and dying to see his Jimin wake up. He was locked in that place for a long time and he was convinced Jimin was also there somehow.
- I realized one of those nights where I was making dinner. Honestly, I wasn't even trying for it to taste good. I just wanted to eat fast so I could go back to you in the hospital
- And then you tell me to take better care of myself
- You know our little shelf where we save the spices? It started working like shit. They would always fall on my plate.
- What does that have to do with anything?
- It happened every night. And after seeing them fall I would taste my food. And it was the exact same flavor of when you cook for me. I think you were taking care of me somehow
- Yoonie...
- But I'll pay you back. I'll have to take care of you for the rest of my life, my love
Jimin would never complain about that. He kisses his future husband ready to continue with the life he once thought was gonna lose.
Downstairs, Hoseok and Tae close the back of the truck. They sit at the front and take a minute before driving away. Leaving this place behind needs for the younger to take a little time to process.
- Are you sure about this?
- Absolutely. That place already gave me all I needed
- Okay...Do you really not wanna keep any of his things?
- I saved the important ones. A few shirts so I can sleep in them. His cup is now mine. And...
- And?
- I have his confession too...
Hobi's taken aback. He was almost sure Jungkook never had the chance to tell Tae about his feelings. Next to him, the young boy holds Kook's diary close to his chest. Together, they share an understanding signal and start the truck. They'll go towards a new life. One that keeps going for now. Until the day he can finally meet his love again.
The apartment is empty. There's almost nothing left. Only a ghost detecting machine that's not longer sensing any paranormal activity. There's no one there. No one and nothing. Everything is finally at peace. And hopefully the best is yet to come...
The end
--------------------------------------------------------------
Hi babes 🥺 This is the original ending! My little ones have to move on. I feel like this story is pretty different than others I wrote but I hope you enjoyed it either way!
Soon I'll bring the Alternative Ending which will probably be a lot longer than the rest.
Thank you for the support so far and I'll see some of you soon!
