Tae wakes up to spend another day in that lonely apartment. It's still weird for him to open his eyes and not have his hyperactive friend offering something for breakfast or asking him out on a friendly not-date. And yet here he is, trying to get some energy for the day by having some tea on an old cup.He refuses to use Jungkook's special cup. It doesn't feel right. And even though he used to have one of his own, he dropped it days ago when his mind played tricks on him. He can't believe he really thought he heard Kook's voice saying he loved him. He was so shocked his hands let go the cup and he ran to the phone. All he could do was call Hobi and cry for help.
- Tae? What's going on?
- I heard him, Hobi! My fucking head is spinning... I'm going crazy...He said he loved me...
- Tae, please. Breath in and out, you're choking on your own words
- I can't understand it. Why? Why is this happening to me? Kookie had to be here but I...
The guilt was eating him up inside. He was supposed to die in his place. And Hobi tried to use his softest tone to talk to him. He's been trying to get Tae out of that apartment since the accident. He only wants the best for him.
- Tae...I miss him too. But you can't go on like this. You're locked in a place that's constantly reminding you of him. You need to move out of there.
- This is our place. We chose it...
- I know but Uhmmm how about coming here for a few days? Just a weekend. To see how you feel...
Tae spent several days thinking about it. About all the things going on around him lately. All those false illusions making him think Jungkook is near him. His head playing tricks on his eyes and ears, making it impossible to move on. And after all these time, he made a choice.
Tae enters his friend's old room and pulls out a big box ready to pack his things. It's the last room he needs to empty before leaving that building. There's nothing there for him anymore. It's worthless without the life Kook used to bring to it. He spends the whole day on that and the only break he takes is to have a nap on Kook's bed. He wants to feel that warmth he experienced the last few times.
- It feels like a hug from you...
Tae whispers to no one at all. He found himself talking to a non existent Jungkook more than once. Even if he doesn't believe in ghosts like his friend did, it was impossible to stay in that apartment in complete silence.
- Maybe it's all the love I have saved for you...
Just like magic, as soon as his eyes close he feels that sensation again. At least he gets to have a good rest for the afternoon. After that, he continues filling up the boxes with everything he finds in the room until the night falls. He has no energy to make food so he simply calls a near by restaurant asking for a delivery.
If this is the last night in this apartment then he might as well ask for something big. He follows the dumb impulse of getting enough food for two people. What would Jungkook ask for? He prepares to have a last meal like the one they had that night before it all went to hell.
A couple minutes later he gets the call letting him know the delivery guy is downstairs. He grabs the keys and walks out of the apartment ready to go get his food. Inside the elevator he finds one other person. A tall man with a dimple smile that's taking out the trash.
- Uhmm...How are things going in the cursed apartment?
Tae is simply trying to make some conversation. He needs to get used to the fact Jungkook is not there anymore to gossip around with the neighbors. But the man by his side is taken back by his words.
